The Tractive GPS Tracker features an unlimited range. In fact, you could track your pet even if you're on the other side of the world. And it works in over 150 countries. It connects to the best available mobile network - just like a phone - to provide location data everywhere your pet goes.

What size of collar does this tracker fit on? I want to purchase this for my cat, but am concerned that the collar is too skinny.

This tracker can be used on multiple collar sizes. If using a collar with a width of 1.5 centimeters or less, remove the rubber clip, put the collar through the two rectangular holes on the sides of the rubber clip and fasten the rubber clip on the tracker again. If the collar width is 1.6 centimeters or wider, open the rubber clip on one side of the tracker, place the collar in between the rubber clip and the tracker and close the rubber clip again. I have included a picture below for reference.

Does this model show an actual map with street names of where my pet would be?

The Tractive GPS app uses the maps of both Google and Apple for the Android and iOS versions of the app respectively. Therefore Tractive relies on Google and Apple, to keep the map up-to-date.

Month to Month plan no longer available

First off the Tracker is awesome It does everything I want it to We used it last July for one month We paid 14 dollars including tax I only need it one or two months

First off the Tracker is awesome It does everything I want it to We used it last July for one month We paid 14 dollars including tax I only need it one or two months at a time But when I tried to reactivate it today July 2025 Tractive no longer offers a month to month plan The Basic plan billed yearly is 108 dollars plus tax This is the reason Customer Support gave me At this time, monthly subscription plans are not available in Canada and in the US This is due to the pricing structures of our cellular connectivity partners which vary across different regions BUT they offered month to month last year And their competition DOES have month to month When comparing both trackers last year that was one of my criteria Probably wouldn’t have purchased Tractive if I had known they would stop this plan

Poor to useless notification of pet leaving safe zone

My dog thought it was okay, though the collar unit was a bit bulky. I found that active tracking worked fine on walks. The first time he left the “safe zone”,

My dog thought it was okay, though the collar unit was a bit bulky. I found that active tracking worked fine on walks. The first time he left the “safe zone”, I did not get a notification until he was almost 500 ft from our house and at our busy street. I submitted a complaint about this to Tractive customer service and thus began a thread of emails lasting almost 3 weeks. The conclusion was that my router wifi signal was too strong and the Tractive device could not detect that Sunny had left the save zone because of the strong wifi signal. Finally, they decreased the time after leaving a safe zone or virtual fence from 90 seconds to 60 seconds and then offered to reduce it to 30 seconds. Their website states that users will be notified within seconds of the pet leaving one of these areas. Of course, that didn’t happen. They offered to sell me a Base Station that would help but when I complained about their service a bit more, they offered to refund “the remaining period” of my subscription and cancel my service. They have cancelled my service and I will pursue getting a refund of my full year’s subscription cost. I guess I can give them one star for their attempts to make it work for me and for timely responses by their customer service staff but any more stars would not reflect my extreme disappointment that the device would not do what I wanted it to do.

Waste of Money 0 stars

It tracks if you can keep it alive. I use it 15-20 minutes a day. It shows a full battery while in use, but unless I charge it (even if turned OFF), it's dead 12

It tracks if you can keep it alive. I use it 15-20 minutes a day. It shows a full battery while in use, but unless I charge it (even if turned OFF), it's dead 12 hours later. And then it only turns on (fully charged, mind you) 50% of the time. This is my 2nd go 'round with TRACTIVE. No reflection on Chewy at all-- they're stellar-- but Tractive is dreadful. They will never get another penny from me or anyone I know.

I set up with the bare minimum service from Tractive once I got the device charged, and so far honestly the most stressful moment was when my dog got out right in the middle of a service outage. But, like most tech, that kind of thing is going to happen. Sometimes it has a hard time finding my dog when he's under heavy tree areas or under a porch, but generally it knows where he is within a few feet and I know within a few minutes when he gets out. The long and short of it is keep in mind that it does require signal to operate, but by and large this is much easier to rely on to help bring your pup home than just walking up and down streets you think he might've gone down shouting. Every time he's gotten out with it on it has helped me find him. compared to the fear of having absolutely no idea where my dog went, it's a huge improvement. The peace of mind is well worth it. And bonus, it holds well to his collar. The few times he's gotten out, it hasn't come off!

I bought this in a hurry and I wasn’t expecting to have to shell out about $200 bucks just to be able to activate and use the dang thing. So I’m kinda disappointed in that. Once I get the app, perhaps the product will work well and as described.

I purchased the tractive device which would not charge despite my trying everything suggested on the tractive website. customer support is handled solely by email

We were forced to switch to the Tractive brand GPS tracker when our former product was lost and not able to be replaced. The TRACTIVE device is so far working very well. We like the compact size and the long battery live (we have had it 2 weeks and haven't had to charge it yet!). App is user-friendly and has some nice features. Quite pleased so far!
