Does the horizontal bar “break away” or fall from the vertical poles if the dog runs into the horizontal bar?

Answer by ChewyNov 06, 2019
The horizontal bar can also be placed loosely in supports to minimize the risk of injury.

Can this be used indoors?

Answer by ChewyMar 12, 2021
Trixie does not recommend this item for indoor use because there would be no way for the product to stand upright. The metal stakes in the bottom of the poles allow the item to be secured into the ground.

Are these the type where if the dog bumps them they fall down?

Answer by ChewyJun 12, 2018
Trixie Agility Dog Training Hurdle is designed with metal spikes that are inserted into the ground for durable stability.

Is there anyway to get an extra black piece? I lost one

Answer by ChewyMar 14, 2021

Not impressed- stake on one leg broke almost immediately

We used this twice before the stake broke off on one leg. It’s not sturdy and poorly made. I would not purchase again and would probably not purchase other items

I harbor no delusions that it will hold up over the long haul, but this is a good lightweight, inexpensive addition to my training yard. Installation was quick, and the height adjusts easily so I can switch between training my 50-lb. Aussie shepherd mix and my 5-lb. Chihuahua mix with little effort.

Broke very easily

Finally set this up now that we have nice weather and it survived five jumps and then my 45lb bc/aussie mix put his paws up on it for a second and the adjuster piece

Good Price. Works.

Like that I can place it anywhere in my yard. Portable. I keep the bar in the non-secured positions (falls down when touched) to prevent injuries and/or breaking

Like that I can place it anywhere in my yard. Portable. I keep the bar in the non-secured positions (falls down when touched) to prevent injuries and/or breaking the equipment. Although I like having the option to put it between the bars so that it does not fall down when the cross bar is touched. Thus, works as advertised. Good price for what you get. Would it buy again.

Perfect for Home Use

This is an excellent starter or addition to your backyard agility kit. Height is adjustable and there's a setting to cradle the hurdle bar so your pup won't trip. (They can knock it off the cradle and reduce risk of injury.) It's very easy to use. If you've never taken your dog to agility training and want to try things out, this is a great entry-level investment. Just be sure you start the bar low and don't set it any higher than recommended for the height of your dog.

I purchased two sets. The second time we set them up, as our very agile 60 pound Catahoula went over the crossbar he bumped the blue pole and the metal piece that goes in the ground bent where it attaches to the plastic pole. Again, second time we used it! Don’t waste your money because, if it takes the slightest bump to break the part of the pole that should be the strongest, then they’re useless.

It does the job,

I only wish the secure stakes were longer. if the secure stake were longer it would make the poles more stable.
