I'm a big fan of puzzle feeders for our cats. They seem to get a big kick out of collaborating to solve them. This one is really cute to this human, but I think it's a little advanced compared to some other such puzzle feeders. I have had to "show and tell" with it, which is okay. The fish-tail levers are appealing to me, the cats don't get how to swat them although I am showing them each time. They DO know how to move the covers off of the sliding covered portions. I haven't added the 2 included ball type covers, since it's enough of a challenge with kibble treats in the small open bins for some of my guys and gals!! :-)
My 1.5 year old cat loves this toy and learn how to get the treats out quickly.
My cat loves this puzzle feeder so much that he won’t eat any of his dry food crunchies, which he loves, unless they are put in this puzzle feeder. he knocks the balls off, moves the sliders back and forth with his paws and uses his paws to on the levers to pull open the drop down doors/covers. This is his favorite and he won’t touch dry food in his bowl anymore-only when it is put in this specific puzzle feeder -the round one by TRIXIE. when we hit the point of losing both balls, I’ve had to get a new feeder -the same one- or he won’t eat. Good news is it really worked on helping him lose weight and gets his brain going. I just wish we could purchase replacement balls.
My treat obsessed cat could smell the treats but the little levers and balls were too heavy for her. So, I turned the balls up and put treats inside the both the balls and the wells the balls sit on, and would partially open the slider section. When I noticed my cat would stop by her new treat dispenser several times a day I started randomly opening the lids that she couldn't. Now I simply prop open the lids with a treat and she has learned to finish opening that chamber as well. I don't use it everyday as I have other treat puzzles plus I just randomly throw treats around for her to "hunt" but I do use it several times a week and she stands by it in the morning waiting for me to add treats to it.
