Use as a Toy or Slow Feeder

TRIXIE puzzle games can be used as enrichment toys or as slow feeders for your cat. Using a puzzle game as a feeder encourages your kitty to eat slower, develop healthier eating habits, and avoid issues like bloating, indigestion, and obesity. It’s a great way to add fun to mealtime and prevent your cat from wolfing down her food.

This was actually my SECOND purchase of this product- the first got stepped on by a human and broke, but needed replacement because my cat LOVES these puzzles. If you have a food-motivated, nosy little critter like I do, I recommend this puzzle as well as any of the others. My sweet Ezzy loves to get into anything and everything and having a puzzle that presents both a challenge and a reward that is appropriate for her (treats are far safer than the contents of a kitchen cupboard) is a great addition to her day. This is a smaller puzzle of hers but perfect for a short game or those days where she doesn’t need a whole sleeve of Churu bites!

I had thought that Gracie would figure out the pushing or pulling of the knob is what lifts that door that give the treat. But so far, after several days and tries, it's frustrating for her and me that she's having problems figuring it out. The 2 round balls are obviously the easiest to figure and the sliding of the discs are pretty simple, but that push or pull is the big challenge. If she ever figures it out, then I'd give the game a 5 star! Plus it might be better to stick with a game that has more of a variety of ways to gain the treat.

It was good to keep my cats interest for a while. Once they figured how to open the few slots for treats, it got easy. No point putting treats in there because they will eat it all in a minute. Too easy. Now it sits there not in use as there’s no point as they figured it out.

My cats are nearly 18 years old but doing pretty well. They are always looking for new things to do. One of them is very motivated by food and really loves this. He has figured out most of them but the flip ones are still a bit of mystery to him. He is working it out and it’s so good for his brain it seems.

good puzzle

Our more food-motivated cat enjoys this puzzle very much. It's not too easy and not too hard. Our more shy cat doesn't try hard enough, so hasn't figured it out

The first few nights my one year olds played with all the traps and got all their treats. But on the fourth night a treat got stuck in the sliding track so they didn’t get the treat. I think this discouraged them. They are not as interested in this activity board. I trade off every evening with other treat toys and will continue to put this one out for them. I think they will start to play with it again. I hope no more treats get stuck. My cats are smart and they absolutely love to play games for treats. Birdie pushes the levers and doors around with her nose. Boo just gives the trap doors a few paw bats.

One kitten (almost 9 months old) caught on to most of the features very quickly. The lever operated ones took him a couple days. His brother, who is not as persistent, really doesn’t get it, but if I leave the sliders slightly ajar, he will then slide them enough to get some food. He also takes advantage of the work his brother does. The one star deduction is because the places where the food goes are very small and the balls roll off easily and make a good play toy - but that also means I have to hunt for them so I don’t use those. Like another puzzle toy I bought, it slides around, but that doesn’t really stop them from using it.

Great quality

At first the kittens couldn't figure out how to get the treats, but in no time they figured it out and taught the others!
