Description

Your four-legged friend will have an ocean of fun with the five-legged Tuffy's Ocean Creatures Purple Pete Toy. This high-quality toy is made using three layers of material that are bonded and sewn together to form a single, soft, durable surface. For added strength, nylon webbing is sewn around the edges and all the edges are sewn together and stuffed with non-toxic filling. Even the squeakers are sewn into individual pouches for added protection. Versatile and durable, it’s the ideal toy for a game of fetch and it floats, so it can even be used in the water!

Key Benefits
  • Made with three layers of material that are bonded and sewn together to form a single, soft, durable surface.
  • Nylon webbing is sewn around the edges for added strength—scores a 7 on Tuffy's own "Tuff Scale."
  • 6 squeakers are sewn into individual pouches for added protection.
  • Safe, non-toxic fiber stuffing gives Purple Pete his shape.
  • He floats, so he’s perfect for a splash-tastic day at the beach or pool.

Every dog plays differently and, since not all toys are created equal, it’s always best to keep a close watch on your pup in case things get ruff. Supervised play will help toys last longer and most importantly keep your pal safe. No dog toy is truly indestructible, so always remove the toy from playtime if pieces begin to break off.

    Super Durable, a Bit Big

By Joanna on Dec 20, 2020

My bad for not looking at the dimensions before purchasing, but this toy is a bit bigger than I expected it to be! That being said, my 55 lb pup loves whipping it around and hasn’t managed to destroy it at all yet, despite her efforts. If you’re looking for something big, purple and tough to destroy, this is it!

Lasted 2 Weeks with Surgical Chewer

By Kate on Nov 13, 2020

My dog is a surgical, destructive chewer. She likes to rip seams and get to the innards of the toy with surgical precision... but she LOVES soft chew toys, so I've been trying to find the right one and thought I had with Purple Pete. It was too big/heavy for her to shake, and strong fabric. However, right away I had to take the top loop off the toy because within an hour she had disconnected it. All was good and she enjoyed the toy until after a few play sessions, she found a way to rip the top seams and get inside it's head to the stuffing, which I luckily saved her from fully consuming. All in, the toy lasted 2 weeks. For nearly $30, I hoped for more.

    It’s worth it

By Cklamb on Nov 24, 2020

I was skeptical about spending so much money on this. However, it has helped up very well! It is a little on the harder side which one of my German shepherds doesn’t like. The legs are a bit softer and have squeakers in them and the softest part is what one of my GS loves however this is his favorite toy to play tug A ware with the other other German Shepard. It’s large which is a plus!

    Not a good choice

By Jackie on Jan 12, 2021

Bought this for Christmas for my pit mix and Samoyed. They had it destroyed within two weeks. I wouldn’t suggest this for your furry friend if they love tug-o-war

    Not worth it

By Valerie on Jan 8, 2021

I bought this for my Old English Sheepdog who is 9 months old for Christmas. I had to trash it today, it didn’t last 2 weeks! Definitely not worth the money.

    Lasts very well

By dgretriever on Jan 16, 2021

My 100 lb dog loves to pull stuffing out of toys, but after five months he's only managed a couple of small holes in this one.

    Long Lasting

By Briana on Oct 8, 2020

I have two German Shepherds over 80lbs. and this is their favorite toy. They tend to destroy their toys very quickly. We have the rubber Kong's of course, but they just don't like to play with those. They want soft toys. This toy will take them a couple of months to destroy, which is the longest lasting soft toy we have found. So whenever they destroy it, we order them a new one!

    it’s okay..

By Tuffys on Aug 21, 2020

I have a three month old blue heeler puppy and he destroys every toy I give him if it’s not a hard rubber. He really likes the octopus but it’s doesn’t squeak. Also he chews and pulls at the seams making strings hang off but there isn’t a hole. I’ve just been cutting them off and watching him play with it

    Don't Waste Your Hard-Earned Money

By Dundee on Jul 2, 2020

Dundee, my 14 month-old Aussie, destroyed this in 2 hours. He chewed out the eyes and ripped a gaping hole in the head then proceeded to unstuff this toy. I was more than disappointed. As a general rule the only toys that hold up to this power chewer are Kong and Tuffy. In the case of Purple Pete, Tuffy really let me down. Purple Pete was a terrible investment. Don't waste your money.

I bet this toy would last more than 20 mins and am doing dishes for a month!

By Consumable on Jun 9, 2020

We have a 55 lb. pitt mix that rips all stuffed toys to shreds over time. Fire hose toys have lasted the longest. I was hopeful with this toy because the stitching looked solid and because of the price. It turns out the material is not very durable. Our dog ripped into the head of the octopus within 20 minutes of playing with it. The arms are still in tact and the stitching there is pretty good. If your dog is a super tough chewer who goes through normal plush toys easily, this might be last for them.
