How we can open a TUG dog leash to repair the cut leash?

Do not attempt to open the leash casing, as there is a loaded coil spring inside which could be hazardous.

Sturdy leash

We bought this one to replace the old Tug leash that finally wore out. It's strong enough for our 35 lb corgi, but it is light in the hand and comfortable to hold

Have had this retractable leash for 3 months. The ribbon is completely shredding and getting jammed in the mechanism. Any day I expect to break. I have used retractable leashes on my 10lb dogs for years. They all eventually break but have NEVER had this in such a short period of time.

I purchased this retractable for certain occasions. Not as my everyday use. I had read it was for strong pullers. When I got it I was surprised that end hook

When I got it I was surprised that end hook was smaller than I imagined and compared to other items I have. I'm not sure I trust it. My dog walks fine but once in awhile gets excited and can pull strong.
