Uncle Jim’s Worm Farm Super Red European Night Crawler Reptile & Fish Food consists of Uncle Jim’s super red worms—the “big brother” of the red worm. This variety of worm grows 4-5 inches long and are very active. Not only do they make excellent fish bait and food for your reptiles, but they also make great composting worms and are often added to lawn and garden soils because they specialize in aerating and fertilizing soil. The tunnels they burrow allow water and other nutrients to reach the root systems of your lawn and gardens, promoting excellent root growth and strength.
Rinse off any packing materials from the earthworms and serve on a clean dish.

How can I store these and make them last. I want them to keep on hand for our turtle, but wife is not going to allow me to use the refrigerator.
Answer by • Jul 01, 2021
Uncle Jim's European Night Crawlers will not do well in the refrigerator, they like to be between 55-78 degrees but can withstand 40-80 degrees F. The best way to keep them alive and have them reproduce is to make a Worm Bin that they can live in year round. You can do this with a 5 gallon bucket, Storage Tote and many other things. They do require 10-12 inches of bedding/soil to live in so make sure it is deep enough.
Can ducks and chickens eat these by chance?
Answer by • Jan 11, 2022
These red worms are suitable for any animal that eats red worms, including ducks and chickens.
what do you feed them to keep them alive and breading and do you have to keep dirt moist year round or anytime
Answer by • Apr 20, 2022
The worms are packed to survive up to 10 days in the bag they arrive in. Simply open the bag upon delivery and inspect to ensure you see nice active, live worms. Now add a half cup of water and a tablespoon of cornmeal or oatmeal directly to the bag. Tie the bag back up and keep in a room temperature environment. Repeat these steps every 2 or 3 days until your worms are ready for their new home! This worm populates quickly and is an excellent bait worm as well as pet food. It is also a composting worm. When it gets colder, your worms will slow down, and will not be able to digest as much food waste. You will most likely need to cut back on the amount of food waste you feed your worms between November and February. Red worms can survive cold winters outside if protected by bedding in a worm bin.
are they good for garter snake? I read that garter snake cant eat red wigglers so not sure about night crawlers
Answer by • Aug 04, 2021
Uncle Jim's Worm Farm European Night Crawlers are perfectly safe for snakes as well as exotic pets.
I know how to care for my critters, no matter who they are.
Unfortunately, only about half of this bunch arrived alive, the other half already dead. Not blaming anyone, i was taking a chance.

Great Worms!
Ordered. Delivered on time. Great packing. Great Product. Uncle Jims says they've been growing and shipping worms for over 50 years. It shows for sure.

All made it
Didn't actually count out the worms but I bought the 100 count bag and there were alot in the bag and all seemed to be alive even despite the cold temps starting up. They're all still doing well in their compost bin a week later.

worm farming
Trying to get enough to feed my aquatic turtle. This is the second time I’ve ordered. 100 the first time and 500 the second. Less than a third arrived. Hoping my 3rd shipment actually has 500 worms! Too much to hope for, probably! Sigh

Bag o’ dirt
The second shipment was as poor as the first. Just dirt. I don’t know if it’s their choice of shipping, or the company itself, but there are no worms by the time I get my package. I will be cancelling my subscription
