Does this give a cooling sensation or heat sensation?

The main active ingredient in our Vetericyn Liniment is Menthol. Menthol initially gives a sensation of cooling. However, since it is a known counterirritant, it works by causing the skin to feel cool and then warm. As blood flow improves to the area after application, the sensation of “heat” is felt. This is especially true if the area is wrapped. Our liniment should never be “cut” with any other additive.
