My first attempt at cleaning my cat’s ears went horribly. He shook his head right away and it splattered all over the kitchen. The trick is to have another person hold the cat while you clean! With another pair of hands this product was extremely easy to use and effective. Momo is no longer scratching at his ears!
I have a cocker spaniel that has a narrow ear canal. I trim his ear fur and keep them as clean as I can. He's reacted badly to many ear cleaners. His ears are sensitive and turn red and irritated easily. He's 8 and I've had trouble keeping that ear clean and healthy his whole life. His ear can become stinky, yeasty and has always had the brownish wax. Zymox has worked the best up until now. I tried this Cerumene and it is oily and it did make his ear fur a bit greasy but I did it before bath day so not a big deal. I filled his ear canal to where I could see the liquid and kept it in there a few minutes and squished his ears around a few minutes. He shook his head and it went flying as usual (outside) and I wiped the rest away. The next few days I'd wipe out his ears and brown stuff came out. I did it again and same results but less brown wax. So it's a week later and both ears are clean, smell great, he's had a bath so no greasy ears and for the first time, I can take a flashlight and see that his ears are both clean as a whistle!! He has sensitive skin and this cleaned his ears without the alcohol burn has gotten from many products. I stumbled across this stuff in one of my dog groups and wonder why the vet and dermatology dept at UF didn't tell me to use this? It's great, doesn't burn and really worked well. The small amount of oil it leaves on his long ear fur is not a problem if you plan it a day or two before a bath. Instead of drying his ears it melted the wax and his ears are clean for the first time. Great stuff for dirty ear wax!
Just heads up after you put the cleaner in the ears the outside of the ears getting really dirty looking i guess it brings all the yuck up to the top? but my dogs ears look brown and gross
Well, my mom got this for my ears after my doctor recommended it. My ears have been a mess since I was just a wee kitten. I have severe allergies and my ears are very suscep...susceptible to infection and irritation. So I have to get them deep cleaned with this stuff once a week. My doctor could finally see my right ear drum after three weeks. She was so happy! I’m still working on the left ear drum, though. This stuff is so good, my ears get really clean, and it’s easy to use. But it is messy. And oily. So, my mom gets a bit frustrated with cleaning it all up. But now she only uses it when we’re in the tile bathroom, so when it gets the gunk out of my ears and it all goes flying, then it’s easier to clean up. It also seeps out of my ears for a while which make my fur a bit oily. So there you go. Sorry about saying gunk... I thought it was a technical term, since my doctor said it too. Bye. Sox the Kitten
This is the best ear cleaner I've ever used on my cat. I have a tabby who just produces more wax than normal, and this gets in there and busts it all up. I use this then take a soft tissue to wipe out the wax. It comes off with the gentle wipe of a tissue. This is the only ear cleaner for us!
Works well but a bit messy. Leaves a bit of oil residue on my poodles fur on his ears but it does clean very well
Works great! Recommended by our vet for our senior kitty’s overly waxy ears.
Each time I purchase something,. I am amazed at how much I save..and how fast it gets here!
This is a great product to soften and help remove excess ear wax. Use this product first, then ear cleaner the next day. End result, happy kitty!
One of the BEST products for treating chronic ear infections, one of the only products that actually breaks up the gunk in your dog's ear, and makes it so much easier for the ear washes to get out all the gunk that settles in the bottom of the ear canal!
