    If only...

    By on

My dog couldn’t get past the smell. We tried many methods and all failed. Now she gets scared every time I go near the area the bottle was sitting... This might be different for some dogs but Waffles was diagnosed with kidney disease as a puppy. She’s never had the desire to eat anything really. Hopefully you will have better luck should you purchase these pills.

    Working great LONG TERM!

    By on

Hi My name is Livy. I was born with renal dysplasia. When I was diagnosed my levels were at a 2.3, last check up...1.9. I take one of these every day with my fancy food and I am doing AWESOME! My blood pressure is great and I still act like a puppy! Over 3 years ago I was told I had at most 6 months to live...watch me go! Renal Essentials is part of my routine keeping me healthy. THANK YOU Vetriscience! Yes, they smell icky but my mommy hides them in my food and I don't even notice :)

That's what having a pet to enhance your life is! So...you can't stand the small (neither can I) and your pet don't like the taste (Neither does mine). Take it from this 80+ gal who spends 30 minutes each morning preparing meds for 5 senior critters (I'd rather be sipping my 1st cup of coffee), this product works! I suggest you quit complaining, put a clothespin on your nose and put your mind to work! Your won't regret it. … more

    Most horrible smell!

    By on

These tablets are the most rancid and horrible thing I have ever had the displeasure of smelling. I opened them, took off the tamper-proof foam top and put the lid back on. Walked away, then came back to the kitchen later and could not figure out the rotten smell. Everyone in the household kept asking what smelled so bad, and it turns out it was the foam lid to these in the trash can. Sure enough the tablets smell just as bad. There is no circumstance I can possibly imagine my dog eating one of these - even in pure bacon grease. I tried, but she runs away. The whole bottle is now gone and in the trash. I don't understand VetriScience - I love the ingredients the brand carries, but so far 2 out These tablets are the most rancid and horrible thing I have ever had the displeasure of smelling. Almost 14 year old dog's kidney functions now in normal level

    By on

I have been giving these to my almost 14 year old shepherd mix and 16 year old pit bull mix for about 2 years and it seems to work combined with diet changes. In February, the bloodwork on Jada (14) showed the two kidney functions in the high range with one at 40. She had blood tested 2 weeks ago in September and it is now down to 18! Other kidney function is also in normal range. Astro (16) hasn't had blood rechecked since February, but his levels have held steady since last year. They eat dry dog food (Diamond Naturals senior) mixed with white rice, dark meat chicken or hamburger, and cooked veggies (carrots, sweet potatoes, peas, apples). The pills and diet seem to be working!

    Renal tablets

    By on

I wish they were smaller tablets and had a much better smell. My 14 yr old started off eating them but now not a fan. I’ve started crushing them but that only worked for a couple tries so will try mixing with yogurt but I think it’s the size and smell that’s the turn off.

My vet recommended this product when my dog's blood test showed elevated kidney levels. After three months, his levels returned to normal range.

    smelly and large

    By on

Smelly and large, but easily crushable. For finicky eaters like my own I crush it up, mix it in some wet dog food and it’s like it’s not even there. (Human baby food works well too) thanks chewy!
