VetriScience Laboratories’ Vetri-Disc combines bovine tracheal cartilage with amino acids, mineral sulfates, vitamins, pepsin, and natural silicon sources all necessary for the support and maintenance of connective tissue. Bovine tracheal cartilage is a rich source of chondroitin sulfates which make up the connective tissue matrix and are found in an especially high concentration in the spinal and invertebrate disc tissues.
Other nutrients like taurine and equisetum arvense are necessary for the synthesis of connective tissue, while minerals like calcium and magnesium support bone growth and maintenance. Zinc is necessary for tissue respiration and is also important in the body’s healing process. Amino acids like serine link the glycosaminoglycan structure to connective tissue proteins, and vitamins C and D support collagen production and calcium absorption, respectively.

Where are your products made?
VetriScience' products are manufactured in the United States. However, we source the raw material for our products from both inside and outside the United States. Our raw material suppliers acquire high quality ingredients from all over the world. Depending on our needs and current market supplies, a particular raw material may be from 1 country in 1 batch, and from another country in another batch. For our raw materials, we require a Certificate of Analysis, which documents the quality, purity, and potency. This qualifies each raw material before accepting it for production. Our parent company - FoodScience' Corporation - is certified to operate under current Good Manufacturing Processes (cGMP) protocols. Under these protocols, we require that each ingredient in a formula be supplied with the respective Certificate of Analysis. This means that the supplier is required to test the ingredient for contaminants, such as heavy metals, microorganisms, and other physical or chemical parameters unique to the ingredient, before the ingredient is shipped. Any raw materials that do not meet our specifications are sent back to the supplier. Upon receipt of a raw material, it is tested for potency and other parameters outlined in the ingredient's specification sheet. Test results are compared against the established specifications.

Please follow all dosing instructions stated on our packaging. VetriScience' calculates our dosing strength according to the animal's weight. Never increase dosing on a nutritional supplement without discussing it with your vet first.
Do VetriScience' products require refrigeration?
Refrigeration of our products is not recommended due to the fact that refrigeration produces moisture, which can degrade nutrients, change smell, and reduce the shelf life on nutritional supplements. Please follow the storage instructions on our labels.
Why should I include vitamins & supplements in my pet's diet?

Like in humans, vitamins and supplements can help support your pet's long-term health, regulating everything from digestion to muscle growth. Consult your veterinarian to determine the best vitamins and supplements for your furry friend.
How often should I give this supplement to my pet?
It is recommended to give the suggested dosage based off your pet's weight. Please refer to the Feeding Instructions tab and consult with your veterinarian for more information.

Amazing Product
By TrinityT on Jan 2, 2021
I am a veterinary professional and specifically rehabilitate pets after injury, illness, and surgery. Disc herniation especially in long back short legged dogs like Dachshunds and Corgis is something I deal with a lot. I recommend this product to any patient I see with or potentially could have back and neck issues. I've used it on my own Dachshund for 14 years and she's never had a single issue with her back. Chewy also has an amazing price on this!

Too early to tell if it helps
By Sanibel on Oct 19, 2020
I have a small 16 year old doxie. Manufacturers need to realize that a horse pill does not work for tiny dogs. I tried splitting it by opening the capsule and putting the powder in pill pockets. Needless to say-what a mess! Plus I had to use three pill pockets to try and get all the medicine in her. But to not give up and give the medicine a fair chance and hopefully to help her I bought baby food. I put a small amount on her plate and mix it in. So far so good she is taking it. When I put it on her canned dog food she wouldn’t eat it. So if you have a medium or large dog I would recommend giving it a try-a small dog It’s just too big of a pill. So not to blame Chewy as they r great I have a small 16 year old doxie. Manufacturers need to realize that a horse pill does not work for tiny dogs. Great so far!
By DixieBluetick on Oct 16, 2020
my 5yrs old blue tick beagle ruptured a disc 1.5yrs ago. She was paralyzed in her back end but eventually recovered with rest and steroids. She has had a few re-occurrences since then. Her last one lasted for about 2 months. Tried muscle relaxers and pain meds. Nothing worked. Got her this supplement and steroids from the vet. So far she has made a HUGE improvement. Her head is up, tail is wagging and she does not have the arch in her back. She will be on this for the rest of her life.

My dog has severe spinal arthritis and this product seems to be helping. She's been on it for several months and is much more active than she was.

Helps with back support - quality and outstanding service
By Jackie on Aug 21, 2020
My vet recommended this product for my Chihuahua with neck/back issues as a support regime. Too soon to know long term progress but doing good so far! It was a way to help him without pain pills twice a day now only as needed. You know product good when a vet recommends to get it and from Chewy! I order my dogs products from Chewy. Even some of my birds!! That should tell you something. Quality and outstanding service

Use for 2.5 years prior to my dog going down with IVDD
By Kimberly on Jul 3, 2020
I have 2 dachshunds. One had spinal surgery 2.5 years and the physiotherapist suggested this supplement for both as a preventative measure. I have given it to both of my dogs religiously for 2.5 years and this week my other dog went down and required emergency surgery. So this certainly does not prevent IVDD. Not sure if it does anything or not to be honest. I don’t think I’ll purchase anymore. FYI Each IVDD type 1 surgery costs $5,500-6,500 including hospitalization and imaging.

Bertie feels better!
By Lynne on Jun 14, 2020
My dog was born with deformed back legs, as she gets older (11), her hips and knees have made it so she was staying in her bed for 23 out of 24 hours. Since I started giving this product to her a month ago, she will go outside with the rest of my dogs, explore the yard and enjoy herself once again. It does my heart well to see her feeling less painful.

I'm a believer!
By Linda on May 18, 2020
Our little Boston Terrier had a herniated disc in her neck. She lost use of her front legs for 24-36 hours. She slowly recovered on medications prescribed my the vet. Unfortunately, in the next 3 months, she had 3 recurrences. I began Vetri Disc after her third episode. Our vet said it was safe and fine to use, but doubted it would help. I have given her a pill everyday since She is only 10 lbs but will take it if I coat it with a little cream cheese. I am happy to report that she has not had a recurrence since I started this supplement. Coincidence or effective? I do believe it has been an effective and positive factor.

Helped my dog
By jakeandmia28 on Apr 4, 2020
Helped my dog regain full use of his back legs 99% back to himself the only thing I sometimes notice is he doesn't want to jump on the furniture (which is how he ended up having IVDD) so I just bought him stairs to help with that.
