It is best to make a transition from one brand of dog food to another over a period of a week to 10 days. Gradually replace your current food with Victor formula increasing the percentage of the mix to 100% within 7 - 10 days.
Great find! My Great Dane puppy loves the taste of Victor’s dog food! It’s the perfect food for large breeds from puppy to adulthood. I ordered 2 large bag and qualified for free shipping to my front door. Get on the subscription program and you never again have to haul 40/50lb bags from the grocery store again.
I've just switched my puppy to Victor's large breed food after feeding her Victor's Professional which she was on from her breeder. My puppy eats it with gusto never leaving a piece of kibble in her bowl. She has never had any intestinal issues on Victor food. I will continue to purchase and Chewy's delivery has been great too.
Briefer fed professional as puppies. We switch to large the new green bag Elite Canine for our Great Dane. They seem to do well on it but wish it was not and expensive as other formulas. You don’t find many brands with joint support for large breeds and can’t find it locally. Always have to order online.
I had never heard of Victor until I recently got a 4-month-old pit bull terrier mix from a rescue, and this is the brand her foster was feeding her. She was using the pro in the purple bag. I also have a large goldendoodle that has a lot of food sensitivities. I used the food recommender on Victor's website to select which variety of their food to purchase. I always come back to Chewy, the autoship is so helpful. So far, this food has been really good for both dogs! They both eat it really well and have no issues with it. I love that the food is made in the USA and how Victor sources as much locally as they can, for me that is always worth paying a little more especially when the dogs enjoy it too. I've been feeding them this food for a month now. My puppy is growing like a weed and my goldendoodle isn't scratching her ears or chewing her paws.
2 of my dogs are on this and they thrive. They are at an ideal weight, their coats are soft and shiny and their stool is normal! Victor makes great foods!
When we got our Great Dane puppy, we knew they can have sensitive stomachs but dang our poor girl was a struggle from day 1. She had softer stools until she was about 4m old while on diamond naturals lamb and rice. Then something happened where she was having diarrhea and accidents all the time. She was on plain chicken and rice for dang near a month while we tried Costco brand chicken and rice (didn’t work) and vet recommended Purina pro plan salmon and rice for sensitive stomachs. The pro plan was terrible for her gut and made her diarrhea worse (basically the consistency of water). I went into my local farm store that sells victor and someone that raises/breeds dogs for a living recommended this food. My pup has had normal stools, beautiful coat, and no dandruff since being on this food! So happy she loves it and she is finally keeping weight on too!
My GSD has been on Victor for a year now but I switched him to their Elite Canine 2 months ago and its just caused him to have terrible GI issues. Typically he doesn't have too much of a sensitive GI but with this stuff it's just messed him up somehow. I'll be switching to Multi-Pro and see how that works for him.
We have been using Victor since getting our new puppy Cane Corso; however, we seen this the Elite Canine dog food and since our pup is very large so we thought we would try it. Sofar our pup loves this good.
Good food but Wesley may soon be eating something just as good with a more reasonable price tag. There's plenty of competition.
Love this food. My Cane Corso also loves this food. And we ALL love Chewy
