Love this food

I’d been struggling to find a low calorie, budget friendly food for my senior dachshund and am so glad we tried Victor! It was always a struggle to keep his weight down even w other low calorie foods, but this one does the trick. He also constantly had issues w his stool being loose but is much more regular on this kibble (it may also be bc we switched from a chicken to a beef based formula). He LOVES eating this kibble and I love giving it to him!

Winnie & Georgia Approved!

Foods available in my local markets just didn't address the needs of my 2 older dogs, an 8 yr. old beagle and a 13 yr. old bully. Both girls were a bit overweight, suffered with dry skin and coat, and the bully was developing some joint issues. After researching foods online, I came across Victor and decided to try it. That was 2 yrs ago & both greatly benefitted pretty quickly - shiny, healthy coats, and both at healthy weights. The bully is much more active with joint issues relieved. They both love the food and are loving life! Highly recommend this food!

Dogs love it!

So far so good! Our two dogs love the food. Both are not as active as they used to be and were putting on some weight. Decided to give Victor a try after a friend had recommended them. Seems to be good quality dog food, and that is what we like.

Victor Senior Healthy Weight Dog Food

Our beagle 3 yrs old. We find this food helps her to maintain her trim weight. She loves the taste and she seems be satisfied when finished eating. We haven't had her on this for for much more than couple of weeks so far. It seems to be working out well.

Sick dogs!!!

I have used this food for a long time but my most recent order I had to throw out a whole 40lb bag. Instantly made my Australian shepherd and my pittie so sick. Ruined 3 carpets and had to stay home from work one day they were both so ill. Vet said the food must be contaminated

Switched from prescription food

So far so so good on the Victor Senior Healthy Weight. It also has the joint care that our other script brand has. Hayley loved the other brand but the price continued to raise each month. The smell of this one is not as pleasant but she eats it fine. We are also seeing less poop. Hubby cleans yard weekly. The other she would poop many times a day.

Mixed Review

I currently have two dogs, one of which is a nice year old basset/beagle mix (she looks like a basset with a beagle paint job). She loved the food, and it seems to keep her satiated between meals. The kibble size isn't too small for her and she early eats the food, so it gets three stars. I knocked two stars off because this food gave her horrific gas that clears the room. This was her first and last bag of tbos food, and she was slowly transitioned onto it over three weeks. In the past few weeks she has been whining more, and definitely a gassy girl, with stink bombs laying waste to my olfactory senses nearly every day. She is also defecting much more often and with looser stools than on her previous food. This is a great product on paper but it did not translate to a great food for my dog.

I'll stick with Purina, thank you

I ordered a small bag of this when Chewy was out of small bags of Purina One Healthy Weight. (I mix it with Purina One True Instinct to keep my dog's weight in check.) I read the Victor reviews after ordering. Big mistake. I didn't sleep well, waiting for Jerry to bolt for the door. I wondered if the food was causing him to scratch, or was it the dry winter air. I watched for stools that looked different than usual. Jerry did like the taste of the food, though. I'll stick with Purina One Healthy Weight, even if I have to buy the next size up. There's no worries, no concerns. My recommendations: don't buy Victor if you have to crate your dogs or leave them inside all day. Do a 1:3 mix of Victor with your dog's regular food. I imagine a full serving of Victor would cause gastrointestinal distress.

the one and only

I had been on a search for the best food for my dog for years (he is now 14) and I found victor a few years ago. I always gave my dog blue Buffalo but decided to try this. When my dog was younger, food didn’t affect him as much, but I started noticing that he was getting belly aches before I switched to this food. He’s obsessed. I had moved in with my bf who also has a dog but feeds his dog purina pro plan. My dog seemed to like it as well so I tried it out. My old man’s stomach was so upset after a few months with skin itching and ear infections, I went right back to victor, and now 2 months back onto this food and he no longer has the tummy aches or itching and such. I’m assuming he was allergic to something, but I’m a for ever customer of victor now. My Brady boy (cocker spaniel) loves it and my bfs dog is so obsessed too!

JRT loves it!

Kibble is larger than what I would normally feed a small, older dog, but our JRT has been eating this without issue for over a year instead of the vet prescribed K/D kibble but WITH K/D wet food. Our vet said then he could stay on this as long as his beginning stage kidney disease doesn’t progress. It hasn’t. The only time I put some warm water in it was after a dental/large carcinoma successfully removed from his mouth recently. Otherwise he devours it. He also got to the desired weight very quickly after starting him on this over a year ago.
