Virbac Zenidog Pheromone Calming Gel Diffuser for Dogs

I did not realize the Zenidog worked until I ran out! Our rescued French Bulldog is quite anxious, and reacts to my husband in fear. During the two months we had Zenidog Annie became calmer. I didn't really put 2 and 2 together until I missed my re-order date. Three weeks later she regressed and became a nervous, clingy, reactive dog again! This did not change her entirely but our house was much calmer and interaction with hermuch more enjoyable. I now have Zenidog on autoship.

I have two female lab mixes who are high energy and one in particular has anxiety issues. I thought this product would be great to test out on them. When I opened the jar, they were very interested in the scent so I do think there is something in the gel diffuser that they register in their brain. It smelled of nothing to my human nose. But overall, I didn't notice any changes in behavior. I kept it in our living room at first just to see if there was any difference during the day. Then I moved it to their cages to see if there were any changes at night. I even had the jar out on the 4th of July with the fireworks going off. They were still as hyperactive, -- barking at everything, same nervous energy when we left the house, etc. While this might work on some dogs, it didn't have any effect on mine.

I received my Zenidog gel diffuser with skepticism, but wanted to see if this would help my dog. She can be somewhat anxious of sounds and typically does not sleep through the night, but rather shuffles between her bed in our room, her crate in the living room, and the couch. How I chose to use this product was to see if it would have any effect on her sleep habits and perhaps help her to stay settled and sleep through the night. To my pleasant surprise, it has made a big difference! She has been sleeping through the night for 3 weeks straight! This is a huge success and this helps me to not wake up in the night when I hear her moving around. Yay!
