Food is fine, a little overpriced. But Chewy is messing up the shipping process here. The last three shipments I’ve gotten from Chewy have not used any packaging material to pad the cans during transit. Seriously, they just put this flat of cans in a box with no paper, nothing. Just cans in a box against the world. Each time, over half the cans arrive dented: which means spoiled and unusable aka UNSAFE for cats. (And bad for my wallet and wasteful of animal resources!) I’m pretty much afraid to keep buying from Chewy since I’ve had to contact customer service each time for a replacement, asking that the replacements be properly packaged, which they almost never are, starting the cycle of dented cans again. Chewy needs to put some padding between their product and the shipping box, this lack of common shipping practice is denting way too many cans and making them unusable. Tired of throwing out food that was fine before Chewy shipped it!
My senior male cat liked this once, then after I wasted $ on a case of the 12 oz cans, he started snubbing it completely. I tried mixing it with tuna he likes, but no deal. I ended up throwing out so much of it, it's discouraging. Actually this past year I've tried so many premium brands of chicken flavor that he started snubbing, I'm starting to be suspicious of a decline in quality in the chicken industry across the board. Wellness has been a favorite brand in the past, but I'm not sure if it's my aging cat or the brand that's changed. I'd recommend trying the brand, but in single test cans before buying a case.
With 5 adult cats I was trying to find a better wet food than the junk they currently eat. Even with that sometimes one walked away and one sometimes would eat ok. With this formula it’s about the same. Add to that a couple that clean up sometimes don’t. Must be some finicky kitties. Still trying to use it for the one or two that eat it but that’s even become difficult. I may just donat the rest and go back to junk food.
I can only say what I have observed. I have many rescue cats. Four have FIP and the vet has told me to prepare for their demise. That was six months ago and all the cats conditions have improved. I have one that is 18 years old and she has lost her vision, so I cherish each day I get to spend with her. I feel like those days have been extended by three things. First I have changed their food to Wellness, second I use Kidney Support Gold by Pet Wellbeing, and third I give them only distilled water. All I can say These little ones are beating the vets predictions.
I have to be honest this food is incredible!!! Good quality eats. One of my 3 kitties has some major health problems. She had severe dental disease and has thyroid and heart failure. Between my great vets and her favorite treats we’ve kept her body weight up and her body functioning at levels none of us expected. So our 3 kitties love this and give it a 12 paws up for score.
I purchased the 24 pack case of the 3 ounce cans and every can was perfect, no dents. This is important to me, I do not use dented cans because I do not want to take a chance the seal would be damaged.
My 2 cats are fed only Wellness wet food, so *I* thought the chicken pate would be fine. Unfortunately, neither of them will eat it, although they love their chicken-flavored treats. Sorry, Wellness. I know you tried.
I have only fed a few cans, in translational amounts! No idea yet how to rate product. Not enough time/data. Why do you guys always do this?? It's Too Soon, especially for Cats & Food! C'mon... y'all should know better.
Good food, but price goes up every couple months (way faster than other products).
Over half of the cans had big dents. Big dents, like 1 inch by 1 inch or more. It was hard to use the can opener to open them, the dents were so bad on the rim. Also there was a lot of fat on the top of the cat food. My cat threw up. He also had diarrhea.
