I was giving my two dogs less expensive dry food augmented with a dollop of canned food. Everyone seemed happy and then I needed food and came across Wellness Core on clearance at a local store. I bought it and my dogs loved it. I decided to switch to only the Wellness and cut out the canned food. My dogs still love it and I believe my older dog has become more active and enthusiastic. I really see a very significant increase in her playfulness and joy. I attribute this to the Wellness and would not consider switching again.
As the title says, there are ants in this food. I received a bag that was absolutely crawling with ants. Chewy kindly sent another bag (and shout-out to Tyron, the awesome and kind Chewy rep I spoke with). The replacement bag also had ants in it. Chewy says the bags were shipped from different warehouses so this must be an issue with the manufacturer. This is great food, my dog loved it and was doing well on it, but I can't handle dealing with ants, so I'm switching to another food.
Have a 14 lb. Terroir/Poodle mix that is more finicky than a cat. Purchased this product for and alternative test. Well, he liked the flavor but had extreme difficulty in bitting through the rock like pellets. Due to this, he could only consume 1 pellet at a time. I cannot recommend this product for smaller pets.
I have been feeding this to my older springer spaniel for two years switched so older and younger dog could be on same food. Younger dog just put down due to formal diagnosis diet induced DCM. My older dog had begun to show signs of lethargy and heavy panting when walking. Changed food and saw huge improvement in my older dog. Talk to your vet about best food for your dog! This food does have high quality ingredients which we had studied in other foods extensively
I bought a small bag. My dog is white. His paws and anywhere he licked turned brown and the poo stuck to his rear end and died his coat dark. I have never had this happen before with any dog food. Not sure if I got a bad bag or what.
Thus far my German Shepard is doing really well on this food, no itching or ear infections.
Wellness Core gave my shepherds bloating, diarrhea and bad flatulence
Our 2+ yr old rescue dog, Woody, really enjoys his meals! It is very hard fir him to sit still awaiting the command that it’s ok to eat. He never misses a bite nor leaves a crumb, licking his bowl clean every time!
My dog has been having stomach issues for about 3 weeks now and after many calls to the vet, samples taken, etc., were pretty sure it’s the food causing her distress and middle of the night emergency bathroom trips. We’ve used this brands treats since she was a baby and she’s always loved them so figured she would also love their food! She does seem to like it, but after slowly taking her off her puppy food and fully feeding just this food I don’t think it’s best for long term. We made it through the largest bag and a half before deciding to switch. She must have a sensitive stomach or be allergic to something, we’re thinking. So, we’re going to try a limited ingredient food next and fingers crossed we all get a little more sleep! I think it’d probably be great for most dogs, but if your pup has a sensitive tummy maybe not.
I have an English Bulldog that has been on Wellness Core since Birth. Recently switched due to a recommendation but quickly returned after dealing with food and skin allergies. Cannoli is back to herself with Wellness Core.
