Questions & Answers

4 Customer Questions

Country of origin-food and manufacturing???
Answer by ChewyJun 09, 2021
Weruva manufactures their wet food pouches in a human grade USDA certified facility in Thailand.

Is this food non GMO?
Answer by ChewyDec 12, 2019
This recipe is not GMO-free, it contains Xanthan Gum.

Hi, Is the Weruva Fowl Ball for cats safe to give dogs? I need the 6 oz cans for my dogs.
Answer by ChewyOct 25, 2018
Even if your dog is one of those with an iron gut, long term it is not good for a dog to eat primarily cat food. It's not properly balanced for them in terms of the fiber and protein and certain nutrients.

Is 1 bag twice a day enough for a 11 pound dog or should I add dry food? The oz. of the packets are considerably less than the small Weruva cans I feed my dog now.
Answer by ChewyAug 14, 2018
This formula is designed for Adult maintenance. Feed according to the age, size, and activity of your dog. If fed alone, feed Adult dogs 1 oz for each lb of body weight, best fed twice a day.

Sensitive Stomach? Picky? This is the answer!

My two Yorkies ADORE Weruva! I typically mix this with my dogs' digestive kibble--about half wet and half dry. The limited ingredients never upset my sensitive girl's tummy, AND my super picky boy gobbles this up like a treat. They prefer the consistency of this "Dogs in the Kitchen" line of Weruva...it's like mushy chicken salad. Our household LOVES the Fowl Ball, Love Me Tender, and Junk in the Trunk flavors equally well.

Can not recommend

Sadly , I can’t recommend this weruva product I normally buy the canned food which is excellent and decided to use this as a topper . Almost immediately both my dogs got diaherra inflamed intestines with mucous , went off the product cleared up in 3 days . Won’t buy again will continue to use canned foods only by weruva.

Weruva Fowl Ball Pouches

This is just the right portion for my chihuahua. It is used in as a mix in with dry food for 2 dogs. It seems to be blended a little finer than the can. Of all the foods we have tried they prefer this the most.

They loved it .

I use as a topper for 2 of my picky eaters. They really liked this. The pickyest ate all her food right up.

Picky eater

Rayray refused to eat. Ended up feeding it all to stray cats in town.

Billions of stars

Not only do we have a dog with a picky palate, he has GI issues and can exude some thick gas. For almost 13 years we've tried different dog foods and combinations that would make him happy and not make him gassy. We finally have a winner. He LOVES this food. We mix it with his Rx tummy food (which he hates) and he'll clean his bowl—consistently. That's the first time any food has ever done that. The packet is a little pricey so we'll switch to the canned version of the exact same flavor. Otherwise—it's perfect.

Excellent Mixer and On-the-Go Treat

These small packs are made, I think, for smaller breeds, but I buy them to mix with my dog's regular food since she tends to get bored of the same flavors. I think it's a really convenient, small pack of food; I will usually pack one in my backpack when my dog and I will be out for the day. The food smells delicious, even to me. Compared to the regular Weruva canned food, the protein in this is a bit more eviscerated but not quite a pate. You can still see shreds of turkey and it's got a nice juiciness to it that I think my dog loves. "Au Jus" is definitely the right term to describe it.

Good for dogs with trouble chewing; a treat for others

My little dachshund mix has had a lot of dental issues over the past few years, and has had more than half of his teeth extracted. I found that he was dawdling when I fed him other foods; with the Weruva packets he slurped them up in no time. My only problem is that now my other two dogs want them too, but they only get them as occasional treats, since they need a kibble to chew on for the health of THEIR teeth.
