Has actual pieces of food

I was pleasantly surprised to see the food inside had identifiable pieces of food inside. Chunks of fish and veggies instead of the usual paste seen in other brands

I was pleasantly surprised to see the food inside had identifiable pieces of food inside. Chunks of fish and veggies instead of the usual paste seen in other brands. Unfortunately, it seems a few cans are always dented no matter how well they are packaged. There was no damage on the box so I'm guessing they were damaged when shipped to Chewy. My dog loves the food but stopped eating at the last few cans which I noticed had dents. After ordering new cans, he seemed to enjoy the same flavor. I'm not sure if it was the dent or an issue with the batch (he's allergic to chicken) that caused the issue. Hopefully we won't have anymore issues since I'm otherwise happy with the product.

We made the mistake of assuming that all lamb based foods were made up of lamb as the main source of protein. Unfortunately we learned the hard way that this is simply not the case. Timber, our two year old Berner, is allergic to most fish as well as pumpkin. Based upon some recommendations and solid reviews we started slowly adding this to his daily diet. Initially everything was fine but then, it was not. It got bad to the point where he was becoming dehydrated. Unfortunately it took several days for us to determine it was the food causing his condition. Upon a deeper review of the ingredients we found both Mackerel and Pumpkin as top ingredients. Unfortunately for Timber these are both high on his “to avoid” list. So for those considering this food as a possibility for dogs restricted to lamb based diets this may not be the ideal choice.

Definitely a winner for the bigs dogs! But most flavors of Weruva dog foods are acceptable for my dogs palate. They are pricey!

Last 2 orders made dogs sick. Many badly dented cans

Weruva Hot Dayam, Cirque Le Mer, Double Dip, Marbella Paella, Steak Frites all seemed fine on the first delivery, although cans did consistently have large dents

Weruva Hot Dayam, Cirque Le Mer, Double Dip, Marbella Paella, Steak Frites all seemed fine on the first delivery, although cans did consistently have large dents. Even though they come shrink wrapped in a case. The last few deliveries have made both dogs incredibly sick. At least 3x a week one or both are having horribly loose stools, discomfort, vomiting. They had no trouble adjusting to the food initially & the first 4 weeks or so were fine . I'm not sure if it's from the deeply dented cans or a problem with the food itself (bacteria or something else?) but we have to stop buying this. I did see other reviews that mentioned these issues on certain flavors. We tried all the grain free recipes & it just seems to be all of them now.
