I initially ordered this because it had the chicken gizzard as well as the liver and I thought Stella would like that. She may have, but we'll never know. We have had her since July of 2021 and have given her many different foods trying to find the right diet for her. So far the Weruva pawlickin chicken have been the varieties she enjoys. BUT, not this one. Kind of funny, because she is not a picky cat and has never done this before. I had to cut open the package and it did slide right onto a plate. I cut it up and did find the texture kind of weird...like cold gravy from Thanksgiving??? Anyway, I sat it down in front of her anxiously awaiting body and went back to the sink to dispose of the pouch and put the spoon in the dishwasher. I felt something by my leg and lo and behold, it was Stella. She had actually walked away from her plate without touching it. She was sniffing it when I put it down and I never dreamed she would leave it like that. I took it up and gave her a can of the green eggs and chicken, which she happily chowed down and licked her bowl clean, as usual. Anyway, some cats may be able to get past the texture. Not here. I put the remainder pouches in my donation pile and called it a day. I love this brand but will not recommend a food that has all the thickeners in it to make it form like this one. Friskies and Fancy Feast even have a better texture!
Especially lovely when chilled
This is a favorite on warmer days after keeping them in the fridge for awhile
Cats won't eat it
Weird texture. My two cats refused to eat it, even with water mixed in. It didn't have ingredients that my cat with allergies can't eat, but both cats refused it.
weruvas best food at least for a gang of 5
I see no problem in sliding the whole pouch into a bowl, mincing and adding supplements in if needed and then splitting in between 5 of my cats. Who all eat it. I have 3 shorthairs and 2 scottish folds. They all prefer this over any other food I purchase.
I was first introduced to this product in a cat care package I had ordered. My cat Simba gobbled it up. I once ran out and had not placed a new order yet so I bought a different brand at the pet store - still chicken flavor - and he would not touch it and after 12 hours I had to dump out the bowl. Won’t happen again.
Slide ‘n Serve food has such a nasty, nauseating texture that I refuse to serve it to my cats. It appears to only be thickener of some kind to make it glop out en masse. I gagged when I first tried to pour it from the pouch. Will the cats eat it? I don’t know, because I wouldn’t serve this to a stray, let alone cats I love.
cats won’t eat it.
My cats won’t eat this food. Texture is strange. It’s like a gel.
Bella says no
Bella refused to taste it. I thought she would like it because of the liver. She has decided to hold out for fish.
It sounded good... but
My cats refused to eat this food. I even tried mixing it with another canned food that they enjoy and they ate around it. I'm sorry, I cannot recommend this food there is something about it that makes my cats turn up their little noses and go on a hunger strike.
Sub for KD
My 16 yr old Siamese started refusing to eat canned KD or Royal Canin kidney diet foods and began losing a lot of weight. I researched low phosphorus foods and found Weruva. She loves this stuff! Meal of Fortune is one of the lower phosphorus Weruva foods. She’s still eating dry KD and her kidney values are stable though def still in kidney failure. She’s perkier and happier and eating regularly again.
