what is beef meal

Beef Meal is the dry rendered product from mammal tissues, exclusive of any added blood, hair, hoof, horn, hide trimmings, manure, stomach and rumen contents except in such amounts as may occur unavoidably in good processing practices. Meal is made by grinding the protein after it has been rendered (cooked in a stew-like way but at high temperatures) and then dried so it'll contain a higher protein content and low moisture which helps provide the pet with the most nutritional value in the food.

We've had dogs with skin issues, which I believe was allergies, in the past and we were looking for a good without grain, gluten and such. Cleared them up and they were healthy and happy so we just have started true to the food ever since. Even throughout the name change lol. Just wish it were easier to find locally but Chewy is awesome to carry so many different foods including this one.

We’ve been feeding this to all of our German Shepard’s for a few years now. It’s really helped them a lot because it’s grain and chicken free which are two huge allergies Shepard’s commonly have. Switching to this food has decreased their hot spots and sensitive ears almost entirely. Now they seem to only have a break out when something else (like soap, we are still trying to find a shampoo that works for them) irritates them

I first started using Chewy when I had to change my dogs previous grain free, chicken free food a couple years ago. The quality had changed, the price skyrocketed, and he started having allergic reactions again. Since switching to this brand of grain free chicken free food not only has his reactions stopped, but his health rapidly improved. I’m getting a better quality of food for the same weight at a lower price with the absolute ease of delivery included. The autoship is a total lifesaver and I love that you can set it to specific weeks instead of months. I have it on the perfect rotation for us.

Originally we tried the chicken and it was fine but Bo was a little picky so we thought we would try the beef. When I open the bag (I usually pour it into two 5 gal pails that I can seal up to keep it fresh). The dry dog food was very oily to the point it was dripping from the bag as I poured it into the 5 gal buckets. Since this is our first time trying the beef, has anyone else had this experience? I was wondering if this is normal for the beef as the chicken was not oily at all. Thx for any response.

My dogs don't pig out.

This food brand has been a great, affordable find. Has no grain, which is a must for the gremlins. My German shepherd has a super sensitive stomach. Cheap foods

This food brand has been a great, affordable find. Has no grain, which is a must for the gremlins. My German shepherd has a super sensitive stomach. Cheap foods give her crummy tummy, in all the ways possible. The 3 chaos monsters (Rottweiler, shepherd, mastiff) don't eat tons of this, they stay fuller longer, and the food lasts me about 3 weeks with the 35 lb bags, where cheaper larger bags would only make it a week and a half, at the MOST.
