Maybe it is old?

Birds love it- haven’t seen squirrels yet

Bought this seed as apparently the squirrels and chipmunks don’t like it. It has only been 24 hours that my feeders have been out - so far I have only seen birds

They love it and fight for it!

The squirrels and birds fight for this! Even deer tip my feeders and pour it into their mouths!

I used to feed the birds with golden safflower seeds. The cardinals, finches, nuthatches, titmice, juncos, chickadees and woodpeckers (downy, red-bellied) flocked the feeders. However, squirrels and red-winged blackbirds would stay at feeders, eat the golden safflower seeds like there's no tomorrow. They scare the small birds. I was surprised that the squirrels and red-winged blackbirds eat the golden safflower. I thought they don't due to bitter taste and seed shell is hard to open. Guess if you're hungry, you eat what's offered. So, decided to switch to this safflower and the usual gluttonous suspects have stopped coming over. The best part, the songbirds are still here and loving the new safflower seeds. Definitely a big win!

lots of twigs block the outlet!

Well, my pets don't eat bird feed, but the birds are enjoying it without the pesky squirrels. Only problem is the little twigs get in the feed outlet and need to

Well, my pets don't eat bird feed, but the birds are enjoying it without the pesky squirrels. Only problem is the little twigs get in the feed outlet and need to be cleaned. Other brand of safflower seeds did not have that waste in the bag!
