This bird seed has all the stuff finches around here like, so they'll eat this fast. I'll pay more attention next time I fill my feeders (3), but I think this bag will only fill all 3 feeders once and the birds around here will go through those feeders in a couple of days, so I'd probably need 3 bags if I want the food to last a week. And that's the main problem I have with this product. If 21 lbs lasts a week, I'm paying 45 bucks a week to feed finches. Still, if you price out Nyjer and Sunflower chips, you'll see they're not cheap, so 2 bucks per lb isn't terrible. I just wish it were cheaper. A 20-lb bag of (Lyric) songbird food is 45 bucks on Chewy and that's pretty good as well... roughly the same price and good quality. Even though it's technically for songbirds, you'll see many variations of small birds will eat booth brands. So those are my recommendations if you're willing to treat your birdies right.
I now have about 10 small birds visiting my feeder. Very fun to watch. A squirrel is trying to decide to jump to it too. Hope he doesn’t succeed.
The finches are pig birds! They eat through this stuff faster than I can fill it.
Well, first off I think Chewy is No. 1 in the Industry. They always put their customers first - and thank you for that. Unfortunately, this blend of finch food isn't doing it for my birds. Sadly, I've had this food out for almost 2 weeks and only a small portion has been eaten. I'm confused as to why so many customers say their birds love it? It is "their" reviews that led me to purchase this brand. So either I got a bad batch (which in my opinion, it looks like beautiful seeds), or, my birds are EXTRA fickle and just want something better - don't know. But I sadly can't recommend this brand Finch food. My suggestion is to look for something else for your Goldfinch! Sorry Chewy!
The finches are loving this food! Gold finches and house finches are stopping by continually.
We live in the desert of New Mexico and there is very little for the birds to eat in the wild. We have two finch feeders and a flock of finches mostly yellow ones. They go crazy for this food and it is funny because this is the only one they prefer. The finch are so beautiful and my two cats love watching them.
Seed perfext got my finch food
I have a ton of finches and decided to give this a try. I normally just feed sunflower hearts. The only ate the sunflower hearts and peanut pieces out of this mix. Didn't touch the nyjer at all. And left the feeders once there was only nyjer left.
The birds love this seed. This is a great quality seed. I am having problems keeping up with the demand from my feathered friends.
Will order it again!
