The Quail and Rabbit Archetype varieties contain meat only. Organs and bone are included where indicated (Chicken Archetype and also Chicken Dream Treats, Archetype Burgers, and Optimize Beef Heart & Liver variety).

What is natural flavor? Why they put natural flavor?

The Natural Flavors in pet food is a proprietary blend derived from the main protein source of the food. In this case, to increase palatability the natural flavor is derived from quail.
Still confused with feeding quantity, my dog needs approximately 450 calories per day. I need the rabbit archetype food. How many servings per bag?

Cat loves it and only company that sells it!

My cat digests best with a freeze dried raw diet. Once upon a time I got "Primal" brand quail and it was my cat's favorite but when the pandemic hit it was permanently discontinued. As soon as I saw Wysong's quail available on Chewy I jumped on it and my cat loves it! I hope this one doesn't suddenly disappear on me too.

High Taurine level

I love the ingredients in this food other than the high Taurine level, hence I am giving it a 4 star review. Cats need higher Taurine levels than dogs and this would be a fabulous food for them, my dog didn't feel well a few days after starting on this food. Taurine is the third ingredient in this food, which is way too much for dogs. So if you are feeding this to your dog, just be aware of this.

Wysong Rocks

My 12 yr old cat was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism last year. After extensive research I put him on Wysong Epigen 90 dry food as well as the Archetype freeze dried food. He is thriving. I add the different flavors to his wet food for added bulk and nutrition. The quail isn't his favorite flavor but I absolutely recommend the product.

Healthy food or treat

Well liked by cats and dog. I like to use this in a food rotation with raw diet. Dog loves it. Cats are back and forth, some days they eat it right away, others they may be picky. Consistency is made up of some chunks and the rest is shreds and powdery.

she likes it and no peas!

I put this on top of her wet food and she had great ph results and also ate everything underneath it even though it was not her favorite wet food.

Not the same as the whole cookie

I had difficulty finding kitty’s preferred quail cookie and ordered this pricey swap as the ingredients are the same. She’s not pleased.

She will eat the chicken but wouldn't even try the quail.

Picky kitty LOVES it

My 9 year old cat recently decided she didn't like most of her usual favorites. She gobbles this right up! I give it to her as a treat or as a topper for her canned foods and if nothing else she will eat up all this food without question!

Cats don’t like it

I got four cats and three of them won’t touch this, dehydrated or rehydrated. Doesn’t mean it’s a bad product- a friends dog ate a dehydrated piece as a treat and looked delighted.

Inconsistent product, terrible company

Very inconsistent product...after feeding this product for several month, I had all of my four cats refuse to eat the latest batch. I called to ask for a replacement...was told on the phone that Wysong would be sending me one - rep even took my address down. Several days later I received an email saying that since no one else complained, Wysong was unwilling to do anything for me. Thumbs down all around.
