how cheese helps to clean a dogs' teeth?? Please explain because my dog needs something for his teeth but I am wondering ;-( How cheese works on this process ?

Wysong DentaTreat™ utilizes the beneficial properties of cheeses, probiotics and minerals to aid in maintaining pet oral health. The alkaline nature of the cheese shields the acidity of plaque and raises pH to neutralize tooth-destroying acids. The natural cheese enzymes and apple polyphenols kill the bacteria that lead to plaque, gingivitis, and caries. Salivary flow is also increased causing sugars to be diluted clearing them from the oral cavity. Lastly, proteins from the cheese obstruct demineralization of tooth enamel and assist in remineralization.

Supplement Reduces Tartar

We have been using this supplement for years on our dog's food. Currently, we give it to our 10 year old Shetland Sheepdog, and our recently rescued papillon mix

We have been using this supplement for years on our dog's food. Currently, we give it to our 10 year old Shetland Sheepdog, and our recently rescued papillon mix. Dosed by weight. Just but on top of any type of food. They love the taste. Looks & smells very much like parmesean cheese. Does seem to reduce the amount of tartar the dogs develop on their teeth. My dog that passed away 6 months ago liked this also. She was a dog that did not easily let you in her mouth to brush her teeth. At the very least, it helps to keep the tartar from forming to keep their teeth & gums healthy. Would highly recommend.

Cheese flavored supplement.

My dog will eat it, sometimes. I don't know if it keeps her teeth clean, I give her other things to do that. I mostly bought it because she doesn't want to eat

My dog will eat it, sometimes. I don't know if it keeps her teeth clean, I give her other things to do that. I mostly bought it because she doesn't want to eat her kibble, but she loves cheese. I found that Trader Joe's sells real grated parmesan in a box that doesn't require refrigeration. My dog prefers that and it's a lot less expensive.

I sprinkle a little on top their wet food once a day (as a dental supplement), and the cats all enjoy it. None of the cats have bad teeth (ages 10-16), I also give a few other dental supplements in rotation as they don't like their teeth brushed. The cats are used to eating a variety of fresh, real foods & some raw in addition to wet food, so they aren't picky eaters. They all love a little cheese, so that's probably why they love this supplement. I would buy again just because it makes them happy.
