ZEAL New Zealand Lamb Recipe High Protein Grain-Free Wet Cat Food, 6-oz can, case of 12

I recently tried the Zeal Lamb Recipe wet cat food with my cats, and while it wasn’t a hit in my household, it ended up being a surprising favorite for my sister’s cat. My own cats are extremely picky and have never been fans of pâté-style wet foods. This recipe has a soft pâté texture with some broth on top, which initially got their attention—they eagerly licked up the liquid, but once they hit the meatier portion, they walked away and left the rest untouched. That said, the ingredients in this product are impressive. It’s made with 94% real lamb and organs like lung, kidney, and liver, which provide a rich source of high-quality animal protein. It also includes nutritious additions like green-lipped mussels and kelp for joint and immune support, salmon oil for omega-3s and a healthy coat, and other wholesome ingredients like egg yolk, peas, and dried yeast. There are no grains, gums, or artificial fillers—just a clean, nutrient-dense formula that’s AAFCO-approved and complete for daily feeding. The real surprise, though, came from my sister’s cat. He’s extremely stubborn and has always refused wet food of any kind, no matter the flavor or brand. We offered him a can of the Zeal Lamb Recipe just to see what would happen—and he devoured it. He now eats it regularly and genuinely enjoys it, which is a huge win considering how hard it is to find something he’ll accept. My sister has started purchasing it consistently because it’s the only wet food he doesn’t turn his nose up at. So while the texture didn’t work for my own cats, I still recommend giving it a try if you’ve got a picky eater or a cat who usually avoids wet food altogether. The quality ingredients and nutrient profile make it worth testing—sometimes it just takes the right recipe to change everything.

Zeal has a smooth consistence and non-offensive scent, making it easy to serve. It is generously portioned which would be great for a multi cat home - but for my one very picky cat home it was too generous. Gracie rarely eats the same canned food for more than a day or two and this was no exception, leaving us with too much food left over (the dog was a fan though).

The larger can size (6oz) is not helpful. not enough for 2 cats, too much for one (at least for my little cats). One of my cats really like the taste but even with reheating after saving in the fridge would not touch it leftover. My other cat tolerated the taste but never really liked it and ate much less than usual when it was offered.
