Our dogs are both high-energy and, thankfully, don’t struggle with anxiety, and they really enjoyed the taste of Zen Butter from Zen Frenz. We’ve been using it on lick mats as an enrichment option, and it kept them occupied and engaged while they focused on licking. I didn’t notice any long-lasting calming effects yet, but that may also be because we haven’t used it consistently or because our dogs don’t have anxiety to begin with. That said, it’s been great for keeping busy minds focused in the moment, especially during grooming and bath time routines. Overall, this has been a solid addition to our enrichment rotation, and I plan to keep using it alongside other enrichment tools. I would recommend it.

This peanut butter paired with a licking mat seems to be distracting her while I leave the house to avoid excessive barking throughout the day. This company also sells a few other products that I’ve shared with my family on their personal website that have proven to be a great solution for motion sickness as well! It’s great to see them in Chewy so I can include this brand in my order :)

Finally, a Calming Supplement All Three Dogs Actually Take

We've tried multiple calming products over the years for thunderstorm anxiety, car trips, and senior mobility support. The consistent problem is getting our dogs

We've tried multiple calming products over the years for thunderstorm anxiety, car trips, and senior mobility support. The consistent problem is getting our dogs actually to consume them. Two of our three dogs are highly selective, and one outright dislikes peanut butter-flavored products. The Zen Butter solved this issue altogether. All three dogs willingly licked 1-2 tablespoons from a lick mat without hesitation, including our peanut-butter-averse dog. The resealable pouch dispenses easily, and cleanup is straightforward. We used it several times over the course of two weeks. No sedation or visible drowsiness occurred, which we consider a positive for a calming supplement. While we've had good results with Zen Frenz's CBD chews for severe thunderstorm anxiety in a previous dog, our current dogs won't consistently take them. The spreadable format eliminates that compliance problem. If palatability has been a barrier to consistent use of calming supplements, the Zen Butter delivers where others fail.

Mr. Blu here. Let me tell you about this peanut butter situation. This stuff tastes like heaven and also like I might actually behave for a minute. Mom squeezes it onto my lick mat or in my toys and I turn into a calm, focused angel. A hungry angel, but still an angel. It’s smooth, easy to lick, and the pouch is resealable which Mom loves because she says I don’t need “free access” to 20 ounces of peanut butter. Disagree, but whatever. It doesn’t make me sleepy, just mellow enough to stop practicing my zoomies during work calls. Highly recommend for dogs with big feelings and bigger appetites.

Delicious and Zen

I got this for my dog Bubba who i brought back from the middle east while deployed. He has a lot of trauma and general behavioral anxiety issues I really thought would never improve. Boy was i wrong in the best way, he absolutely loves it. The quality stood out right away, he is incredibly picky (eats the dough out of bagels not the crust eggs only scrambled)and he went crazy for it the second I opened the box. This honestly exceeded my expectations. Super happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for something reliable for their dog.
