Its good to rotate the meats in your pet's food, to keep them from developing allergies. I use Ziwi Peak as a chewy topper for my cat's main freeze dried food. The Ziwi Peak is great to add to any food as its chewy and will help clean teeth. It can be fed alone, but be aware that being air-dried, it has the smell and consistency of jerky. My cats would likely eat it by itself, but I wouldn't want to just eat jerky everyday so likely they wouldn't either.
My cat went absolutely nuts over this food. I love the ingredients as I am very particular with my girl’s diet. I don’t like grain free because I don’t like peas but I also couldn’t find a good brand that offers heathy grains either. So this was a great happy medium I think. I fed a tiny handful over her normal orijen wet food. I wish I could feed her this food exclusively but it’s just too expensive to do that, so I’ll keep purchasing as a topper. definitely recommend.
I am sorry to say my two Persians will not eat this food. Was really hoping they would like it. They like the Royal Canin better. Would recommend because of the quality but your cat may or may not like it. Wishing mine did.
I really like the Ziwi brand, they use top ingredients, and my two tuxedos love their wet food, but neither of them would eat this. The pieces are small which I thought they would like, but they are really rock hard and they spat them right out. This probably would work better if you have kitties that are used to very hard dry food. Another reviewer said soaking them in water did not work either, so I didn't try that. Sadly an expensive waste of money.
We have tried other dry cat foods as a midday snack, but every one caused our cats a bleeding bladder. This one does not, and the cats have normal poos.
My kitty hit a wall with the lamb mackerel flavor of this where she never liked it, but ate it anyway, then decided she couldn't keep lying to herself and could live off her body fat. She's extremely food driven and will eat cabbage, etc. just to participate, and no food can be left unattended for even a minute. This one she likes much better. She still doesn't love it, but it's very valuable as a healthy dry food with enough moisture content (think chewy jerky) to still prevent any throwing up. I only use it for her afternoon snack, and as part of her main food when I'm on a trip and she's limited to dry food.
5 cats, not one of them will eat this. I was looking for something for my guy with the no poultry, no fish, no pea diet. He won't touch it and neither will anyone else. Back to the search. I have one food that works, need some back up!
Recently got a 6 month old kitten and wanted to start him off with a better food option than kibble. He took to Ziwi pretty well. He enjoys both the beef, and lamb & mackerel flavors. His coat is soft and he's been at a good weight.
Best made dry cat food. Quality ingredients without grain or rendered meat. Worth the price.
My babies don't like this but they are very very fussie
