No Reading on Display

The thermometer comes with two batteries, which was nice, but neither one of them turned the thermometer on, which leads me to believe the thermometer itself is

The thermometer comes with two batteries, which was nice, but neither one of them turned the thermometer on, which leads me to believe the thermometer itself is poorly designed (another review had the same issue). We tried both, turned the batteries to both sides, checked that the assembly was fully screwed back together...simple construction, so something internal must be faulty.

Stopped working in less than a month

Just stopped working. It's not wet in the battery terminal and I tried both batteries that came with it.
