7 Customer Questions
Is this to prevent any damage in the future for the turtles or is this for the turtles while they already have some kind of calcium deficiency? My turtles are still babies but I want them to grow healthy. Should I buy this now or wait to they grow older?
Answer by • Sep 26, 2019
The Zoo Med Dr. Turtle Slow-Release Calcium Block Turtle Supplement can be used to help prevent issues as well as treat some soft shell issues. It can safely be used with hatchling turtles.
If I use these with yellow bellied sliders, do I still need to use the calcium powder when feeding them?
Answer by • Jan 26, 2022
The slow-release calcium block can be used with yellow belly sliders, it will help add calcium to the water which they will consume when drinking. However, Zoo Med does not recommend using a calcium powder when feeding them as it can just foul the water. Make sure they are being fed a balanced pelleted diet with added vitamins and minerals.
Can I use water conditioner with it for my turtle
Answer by • Oct 08, 2020
This supplement may be used with a water conditioner.
How often should these be added? I want to use this on a 13 gallon fish aquarium for my mystery snail.
Answer by • Sep 26, 2020
The block begins to slowly dissolve once placed inside the water. When it is fully dissolved you may replace it as needed. 1 block treats up to 15 gallons
