Description

The Exo Terra Clarity & Odor Control Moss Ball for Turtles helps keep your tank’s water crystal clear and also reduces odors. Turtles like to snip at this

By BrooksBabes on May 5, 2021

This product seems to help water clarity. Perhaps remaining food particles may attach to the moss ball. If this is so, that explains why my turtles like to snip at it like a leftover snack. It’s also probably pretty stimulating as an active activity and fun for them to toss around the bottom of the tank. While it does claim to be safe for turtles, I worry about how eating at this could effect them though. I chose my rating based on lack information and uncertainty of being the cause for clarity (recently added a new filter.) The picture is after three weeks of use.

    Works good!

By Great on May 9, 2021

I have been having problems in my fish tank with high nitrates.. i put in these balls 24 hours later did a water test they greatly reduced the nitrate level by alot! I see reviews on here saying it dossnt work but it seems to be user error. Works great for absorbing organic matter you cannot see. Sorry folks but if u put it in a green tank and d expect it to clean it for you thats on you. But it does its job its made for.

    Not satisfied

By Rayal on Apr 12, 2021

Put 2 in a 20 gallon and it did nothing. Tank still smelled and was still dark. Had to water swap. I am going to give it another shot because i put the balls under stress of a dirty tank immediately so maybe i was not fair. I will update this review ina week.

    Works great

By Nans on Mar 22, 2021

Really, really Helped!! I was skeptical when we learned it was a manufactured product, it bothers neither the fish nor the turtles. Very non invasive. I Would absolutely recommend this product to put an any water environment. Just wish they had larger ones to add to high volume (small) ponds or large aquariums.

It worked in my goldfish tank

By Sanx on Feb 8, 2021

I've been trying to go thru the whole good bacteria set up thing in my 55 gallon tank but it was taking forever. I did it in a 10 gallon tank so I knew it was possible. 3 months and it was still cloudy. I smelled fish water across the room. I heard about moss balls being a trick so I started with 3. No joke within less than 24 hours the tank started clearing up, by morning crystal clear. The moss balls like Tap water so its ok to rinse out, squeeze, shape and toss back in. Sometimes they sink straight away , sometimes they float around and sink later. I've added 2 more since the original 3 mainly because our 2 inch feeder goldfish from the carnival 4 years ago has grown into a 12 inch small I've been trying to go thru the whole good bacteria set up thing in my 55 gallon tank but it was taking forever. I've added 2 more since the original 3 mainly because our 2 inch feeder goldfish from the carnival 4 years ago has grown into a 12 inch small whale who nibbles on the moss balls sometimes. Bernard has never been happier. In the beginning the water did get a translucent green shade and Bernard's white scales changed greenish but he was fine and everything cleared up. I probably should have soaked and rinsed the balls longer. Oh, fish water smell, totally gone. Moss balls don't help with algae from sunlight problem, I don't think they're suppose to. Stay safe and sorry for bad punctuation :( weakness :) Cheers … more

    Turtle food

By Turtle on Mar 24, 2021

Turtle thinks it’s food and attacks it. The moss came off the plastic. Don’t recommend.
