What makes this harness “no pull.” Does it put pressure on the dog so he doesn’t pull?
Answer by ChewyJun 10, 2018
The patented design works by discouraging what’s known as the “opposition reflex,” which is the reflex that encourages dogs to pull against pressure caused by traditional harnesses.

What type of dog seat belt could be used with this harness?
Answer by ChewyJul 15, 2018
This harness has two metal rings that connect to the clasps on the leash. Any dog seat belt that can be secured or clasped onto the metal ring at the back of your dog's harness will work.

Are they any instance of chafing with this harness? Our dog has sensitive skin and her current harness leaves her red after every walk.
Answer by ChewyApr 30, 2020
This harness features Swiss velvet lining behind the front legs to prevent rubbing and chafing.

Can I run with my dog using this harness?
Answer by ChewyApr 22, 2018

Probably as good as it gets!

This harness doesn’t completely stop my husky from pulling, but significantly reduces it! He only pulls if he sees another dog or a squirrel and its still a significant improvement, he is much easier to control and he cannot slip out of this harness like his previous one. This harness makes it much easier for my 12 yo to walk the dog while I recover from surgery! So it had been a lifesaver. I would give 4.5 stars. I see the negative reviews with the broken straps. It says in the instructions to remove after walks, so they don’t chew through the straps. If you follow this you should be fine!

Absolutely fantastic!

I have a whole pile of harnesses and collars that I have tried on my 1 1/2yr old poodle and nothing has helped with her pulling. She is not food or toy motivated so training has been really tough. The owner/and head trainer of her daycare took her on, and with one walk she said "oh she needed a freedom harness". Well its been two days and its night and day! Every time she tried to pull it spun her around towards me. It took a few pulls and she was done with that nonsense. I cannot recommend it enough, especially for non motivated pups like mine.

2 hounds Design Freedom No Pull Dog Harness

Made really nice. Seemed good quality, BUT it did not survive the second day! My dog chewed it in two places, one almost completely thru. I think I might be able to mend it with a good deal of effort and proper materials. If not I may have to order a new one. It did seem to help with his pulling while walking. Just did not have enough time to know. Back to the training collar, for now

This harness snapped after onky owning it for a few weeks. We were in training with our mixed Lab and it snapped and broke. This can be dangerous as you lose total control of your dog. This was the second one of this brand I have purchased. The other broke as well but it was older. So I gave it another chance. I would never purchase this brand again.

Rubbed fur off with 1 walk

I fit this harness properly, so imagine my surprise when it rubbed my dog’s fur off and irritated her skin. The worst parts were where the martingale was (the main reason I purchased), but I also later noticed it had rubbed where the buckles were and other smaller areas along where the harness sat. Even if I hadn’t fit my dog’s harness correctly, this is unacceptable. She wore it for only one walk for this to happen and to such a horrid extent! We switched back to our regular martingale collar and returned this harness

Not a fan of the lead

The lead is odd. Not sure why the handle is there and it’s a bit short. The whole point of being able to turn them around is to have control, but the handle gives even distribution. I did notice less pull however it fits weird and the leash is not my favorite. I’ve stopped using.

Less pull noticed

The no pull harness fits well on my 15 pound Sheltie / American Eskimo mix. It was easy to adjust and is well made. The velvet girth strap is a hair magnet. Our guy is very fearful of noise and is in extreme flight mode when frightened. Running on hind legs as fast as he could was our problem. The no pull harness kept all 4 paws on the ground so we call that an improvement. If the “scary thing” isn’t too close we have even been able to refocus his attention back to us. This has helped and with continued behavior modification I hope to see loose leash walks.

works great

First thing that has worked to stop my beagle from pulling! She used to walk sideways, pulling so hard. Can't even feel her on the leash now

Love the harness

Love the harness. Easy to put on an take off. The best part is the rings u connect the leash to are metal not plastic. Would most definitely recommend to anyone looking for a harness.

Best harness for pullers

I love this harness so much; I've used it with two dogs now, and while I've tried other harnesses, 2 Hounds Freedom No Pull is by far my favorite. The options of a front or top harness and a leash designed to clip on to either spot... OR BOTH... gives me options depending on where we are and how much control I need over my (enthusiastic) pup. I use both clips on the city streets and then once we're in the park I switch to one clip so my dog can have a longer leash. As both of my dogs have been short haired, the velvet cover over the belly strap prevents chafing on the soft skin near the forelegs. And I love the martingale loop when clipping to the top of the harness. My current pup is doing well learning to not pull on the walk and this harness makes training easy. My last dog, due to anxiety (we got her as an adult), never learned not to pull, but the Freedom No Pull's front clip made for a more comfortable walking experience for both of us; I didn't end our walks with aching arms and she didn't end them frustrated. It's an effective, comfortable option for both the polite and the exuberant pooch, and makes walking your dog the pleasure it should be.
