My Shar-Pitty loves this food
My my most recent rescue is a wonderful boy called Tyson. His foster couple told me he had skin issues and was allergic to some kinds of food, chicken in particular. We tried a couple of different brands but even Turkey caused inflammation. The only non-poultry dog food that showed promise was Orijen 6-fish but he didn’t like the taste. I read that Acana and Orijin are made by the same company so we tried the lamb and apple - WOW! What a difference. He loves the taste and his skin issues are gone. Excessive Scratching, itching, paw licking-all stopped after a month on this formula. Even his fur has started to grow back in some places where they said the skin infections were too severe. We don’t use any medicated shampoo or creams (only balms from the Natural Dog Company for dryness) and give him duck or lamb based treats. It’s VERY difficult to find dog food without any poultry additives-chicken is used as a filler for most of the dry and wet dog foods. The Acana dog food (dry) has a label I can understand and even the wet food (that I sometimes use as a topper) has no chicken of any kind. We are very happy our sweet boy can enjoy living in his own skin now.
Happy Doberman pup!
My 8 month old Doberman had been suffering from sensitive stomach issues and skin allergies. His allergies affect his eyes and gave skin rashes and his sensitive stomach gave him constant diarrhea where he was not gaining weight. Vet would give him antibiotics for stomach and meds for allergies and kept advising to change food without testing for said allergy. I tried every food I can think of. Finally, I decided to go limited ingredient to try to narrow out the allergy myself. My first try was this Acana lamb and apple limited ingredient. Since a lot of the other foods contained chicken, I decided to stay away. I think that was the cause! He has been on this food for almost two months. His stools are completely normal! He seems to actually enjoy it. He used to very picky and was often on a bland boiled chicken BRAT diet. He has gained weight! He is now almost 70 lbs! His muscles look amazing too with the high protein. His skin has much improved. Skin rash is gone. No more eye drainage. He still has some itching and slight hair loss under his pits. Just began adding salmon oil in hope that helps his coat more. Highly recommend for picky and allergy induced puppies even the big ones!
Great customer service
I need to point out chewys amazing customer service, but i dont know where else to put that down. One of their bags of food came ripped open and spilled in the box. I messaged them and they sent us a free bag of food the same day! They didn't ask for us to return the opened bag, but to donate it to a shelter if we thought it was still good. Amazing customer service!! 10/10 Also our dog lovesss this brand arcana. It's awesome. Lamb and apple is a favorite
No more gas!
Our pup is a French bulldog Boston terrier mix who is sensitive to certain ingredients. He gets terrible frequent stinky gas when eating certain foods, chicken products set him off the worst. He does amazing on lamb in particular. We have used another Lamb food but my dog seems to like this kind more and it’s a little more affordable than what we were feeding because they offer different size bags instead of just small and extra large lol I appreciate that so much. I do like switching products so my dog doesn’t get bored but we are def keeping this one in our permanent rotation roster. Rebuying our second 13lb bag right now which is a perfect value size for our pup.
Finally a happy OEB!!!
My OEB has food allergies and anytime she had anything else I gave her, she was constantly spitting up and having breakouts. Gave her this food and she instantly improved. Her coat is nice and luxurious and no more spitting up. What a great product!
Bernese MTN Dogs love Acana
I have a bunch of Bernese in my house and they all seem to love this brand the best. I've read reviews and Acana seems to be a very good brand without all the recalls like other brands in the past. I bought it since two of my dogs have allergies to chicken and pork.

Finally a winner!
We have tried MANY foods over the last couple of months. Our mini goldendoodle was having belly issues and we found out she had a lot allergies. I finally found this limited ingredient food that did not have any of the items she’s allergic to in it. Our pup absolutely loves this food! She would typically let her food sit around until she was starving. Now, she gobbles it down as soon as I put it down. Her poops are back to normal after constipation from the previous food. She has had no belly issues through the transition. I’m so glad we found this food!!

The first purchase of this this was the very best, however, the second order, well I just had to review my options.
It's a Hit
Thought we would try Acana Lamb and Apple in our rotation. It's a hit. I like the singles line. We'll be trying the Beef and Pumpkin down the road.
