Important Information

Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

How long does it take for fleas to die after spraying inside my home?

Answer by ChewyMay 12, 2019
This spray contains etofenprox and prallethrin to kill adult fleas very quickly by attacking their nervous system. It also contains methoprene which is an insect growth regulator (IGR). Those larvae exposed to an IGR, will never reach adulthood. In addition, IGR-exposed adult female can’t lay viable eggs. Methoprene lasts 7 months when applied indoors, which is great for control and prevention.

I clean and keep my house vacuumed and my cats washed on a schedule. But last year was a beast as for fleas. Even though I use Frontline Plus. My neighbors noticed the same and they use Revolution. So it was nothing we weren’t doing well, it was just a combo of weather and humidity in the south here. I took a chance on this spray, and away went the problem. I sprayed every 3 weeks, cats in another room, away until it dried, maintained my reg bathing schedule of every few weeks, and topical, and I do believe this was a definite help. I am keeping a can on hand if ever it happens again.

Not effective

Doesn't cover 2000 square feet. Doesn't kill all stages. Doesn't last. Go get the vet strength. You will save money in the long run.

I like Adams products and they have worked well for me. I received two cans. One was very easy to use and was no problem. The other refuses to spray most of the time, just foam comes out and I have to keep cleaning the nozzle with water very frequently, which gets very frustrating.

Flea Infestation Summer of ‘23

Well y’all, we got fleas. Cats went outside into the backyard and brought them back in. I did my usual or treating: vacuum, flea comb, advantage ii, capstar, dewormer. The difference from before and now is that I have carpet. It’s so inhumane to have fleas and carpet! I used 3 products primarily to beat this flea infestation. I am SO impressed. The first one was Cat Care flea powder. The 2nd and 3rd were flea carpet sprays. The 2nd was this brand - Adams. The 3rd spray was recommended at the vet, Knockout. This can of Adams was so effective. We used likely more than we needed to since it said it would cover 4000 sq ft. We live in a 1075 sq ft and applied it 2x to our bedroom and living room, vacuumed before and after and between. I have a cat room and we set up a few flea traps using a flashlight, and dish detergent. There were obviously less and less fleas coming out. I had no tiny fleas on my white socks anymore. The spray smells like insecticide. It IS IGR based. But worth it because this knocked out our flea infestation in 1 week while I had been struggling to control it for a month prior.
