Learn More About Adams From Our Team of Experts

Important Information

Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

Effective Flea & Tick Control for Pets

Protect your pet from fleas and ticks with ADAMS flea and tick sprays for dogs and cats. These effective flea sprays start working fast, killing fleas, ticks and flea eggs on contact to provide lasting comfort for cats and dogs. Whether you prefer traditional sprays or a plant-based flea and tick spray for a gentler approach, ADAMS pet sprays provide flea and tick protection for every dog and cat over 12 weeks old so you can get back to worry-free moments together.

Versatile Defense Against Pests

Fleas and ticks are more than just a nuisance, they can cause skin irritation, allergy issues and even transmit disease. ADAMS Plus Flea & Tick Spray kills fleas and ticks on contact, including deer ticks that can transmit Lyme disease, repel mosquitoes and break the flea life cycle for up to 2 months. For a gentler option, ADAMS Botanicals Flea & Tick Pet & Home Spray uses a plant-based active ingredient. The fresh-scented botanical flea spray can be used on dogs, cats and pet bedding.

Lasting Protection for Every Dog & Cat

ADAMS flea and tick pet sprays target the pests that cause your pets discomfort and help prevent flea infestation. Ideal for multi-pet homes, these flea and tick pet sprays are available for all dogs, cats, puppies and kittens over 12 weeks old. Whether you need long-lasting defense or a gentle, fresh formula, ADAMS offers effective, ready-to-use flea and tick spray for every dog and cat. Simply use them directly on your pet to kill fleas and ticks quickly and provide ongoing protection.

How to Use

Flea and tick protection is simple with ADAMS flea and tick spray for dogs and cats. Simply shake well before use and begin spraying to cover the body, including legs, underbody and tail. Ruffle the coat to ensure even coverage and penetration to the skin. Spray until the coat is damp, not saturated. For best results, rub spray around the face with a cloth. Repeat as directed on the label. Do not use on pets under 12 weeks of age.

Questions & Answers

18 Customer Questions

If i were to apply this on my dog can i continue using the monthly treatment? If i can do i have to wait a certain amount of days after applying the spray to apply the other treatment.

Answer by ChewySep 15, 2018
It is recommended to repeat the use of this spray every month for continuous home flea and tick infestation prevention. Full-strength preventatives are intended to be used alone. We recommend using a product for residential premise control (carpets, upholstery, and pet bedding) of these pests in conjunction with this treatment. We encourage speaking with your vet before combining pest preventatives for the safest opinion.

when cats clean themselves by licking, can this treatment make them sick?

Answer by ChewySep 04, 2022
When adding chemical-based treatments for care, follow the label’s instructions carefully and contact your vet with any questions. Prevent your pet, as best you can, from licking itself for 24 hours. Some pets may drool upon tasting the treatment on their coat. This may occur with alcohol- or water-based products. This response is generally self-limiting.

Can I pet my dog before the flea treatment dries?

Answer by ChewyOct 05, 2022
It is recommended to wait up to 24 hours after using this flea and tick treatment. If you touch your pet before the treatment is completely dry, please wash your hands.

I just sprayed my dog with Adams flea and tick spray. He has a lot of fleas. How long do I have to wait before bathing him with a flea shampoo?

Answer by ChewyOct 18, 2020
Topical treatments can take up to 24 hours to dry. Refraining from bathing your pet during this time is recommended. If you do choose to bathe your animal prior to adding topical products, wait until your pet is completely dry to apply the product.

Very strong smelling

I picked up this product by mistake. I thought I was simply buying a bigger size of Adam's Home Spray. This product is very strong smelling (reason for 4 stars)

I picked up this product by mistake. I thought I was simply buying a bigger size of Adam's Home Spray. This product is very strong smelling (reason for 4 stars). I sprayed it around my entire house and then had to open windows and doors to air out. (This was before I realized I bought the wrong thing.) After that, I still use it as it appears to work but I try to use it in areas that we won't be in for few hours (e.g., spray in garage).

I used this on 5 Golden Retrievers who had a mild case of fleas along with another company's flea dip. The fleas thought it a great appetizer before their main meal of my dogs. Did absolutely nothing to kill the fleas so save your money.

Fighting fleas

Seems to work. Unfortunately the bottle was leaking. It came sealed in a bag but there was still a mess. Plus about a quarter of the bottle was wasted.

It works!

I can spray this on my cat and my hands applying it without too much worry. I don't go too heavy, and ALWAYS spray away from my pet's face. Later on in the day,

I can spray this on my cat and my hands applying it without too much worry. I don't go too heavy, and ALWAYS spray away from my pet's face. Later on in the day, I may apply more around the neck after spraying on my hand to avoid accidentally spraying my cat's face (and especially their eyes and nose) I will rub a small amount on their head and this has taken care of fleas. I also open the screened window where they can get fresh air while the product dries because like most flea products, it is very strong for the cat.

Worked wonders!

My 2 kitties & dog had a flea infestation - I was recommended this spray and it made all the difference! If you're currently battling fleas - this is what worked

My 2 kitties & dog had a flea infestation - I was recommended this spray and it made all the difference! If you're currently battling fleas - this is what worked for me: - Give kitties frontline plus - Give dog flea bath with dawn soap - Apply frontline plus to dog once completely dry (I waited until the next day) - Vacuum house and spray floors with Adams flea spray - especially carpets & rugs! - Wash bedding in hot water - Took a break from playing fetch outside for 3-4 days - Did a 2nd round of vacuuming & Adams spray 2 days after the 1st round = Went from flea infestation to completely contained and down to a few fleas in 4 days Hope this helps :D
