Is salmon oil to be be given at every feedinjg?

Answer by KintsugiApr 09, 2025
No, the salmon oil is not to be given at every meal. I made that mistake based on the, "Yes!" by Shay. According to the manufacturer website, "once per day a few times a week." It would have been helpful if this information was on the bottle or box. Link to inform: https://www.tridentseafoods.com/faq

Is this mercury free?

Answer by ChewyMar 06, 2021
Alaska’s marine habitats are extremely clean, and environmental contaminant concerns are low. Because Alaska is thousands of miles away from large sources of pollution, these distances, combined with the Earth’s patterns of circulation of water and air, help to ensure that Alaska’s waters are among the cleanest in the world. Be assured, the State of Alaska’s Fish Monitoring Program includes robust sampling and testing of the various species native to the waters around the state that is representative of the fish caught for our products (such as wild Alaskan pollock, salmon, and cod). The manufacturer routinely tests the oils they extract to ensure the safety of the material prior to making pet supplements.

Does this have an expiration date?

Answer by ChewyFeb 19, 2022
The expiration date is printed both on the bottom of the bottle and on the back of the individual retail box. The oil should be stored in a cool dry place, out of direct sunlight and avoiding temperatures above 86° F. It is not necessary to refrigerate the oil; the exception to this is, during the summer months (especially for homes which do not use central air conditioning), and temperatures exceed 86° F.

This designates it's for dogs. Is it okay to give to cats?

Answer by ChewyMar 29, 2021

I love the product & have been getting is for a couple years. All of a sudden they stopped sending a pump, & just like everyone else has stated it makes a complete mess trying to dispense it without the pump. Please bring back sending a pump with the bottle.

Poor bottle design

First the price went up were I will have to stop using it and it is a very messy oil to serve the way it is design . I would reconsider reusing the product if it

No more pump?

The description still says measure based upon the dosage listed on the box. The box always had a dosage listed based upon pump strokes using the included pump

The description still says measure based upon the dosage listed on the box. The box always had a dosage listed based upon pump strokes using the included pump. We use it on both of our dogs and without a pump to dispense different dosages for different sized dogs it may not be worth the hassle any longer. Very poor idea to dump the pump.

Rude

You tricked me into a double order and then you emailed me from a non returnable address - wasting even more of my time.

Comes without a pump

I have had this on auto ship for years and it has always come with a pump and my last 2 no longer have a pump. This big of a bottle makes an absolute mess everywhere!

Healthful

My vet recommended salmon or fish oil daily for its benefits. Tried a different brand, but my dogs like this one better.

Actually helped my dog.

I have a 10 year old Boxador. She has been having problems with her hips after a walk and playing with her tennis ball. She struggled walking up our porch steps

I've tried other types of oil and didn't see any improvement. My son gave me some of Alaska Naturals to try. Within 3-4 days I noticed a big improvement. Very happy with this stuff.

Hate the new design

We’ve used this product for years. But it just went from a pump top to a flip top that leaks and we are not a fan. It spills more and the tops are usually damaged

Stopped my puppy’s itchy skin

We give a squirt in each of our dogs food once a day. It solved the itchy skin my puppy was having pretty quickly. Coats are glossy. Love the product.
