This is intended for supplemental feeding only. It should be served daily along with a complete and balanced diet.
Gradually transition your pet to any new food over the course of 7-14 days to help avoid the digestive upset that abrupt changes in diet can cause. If your pet tends to be on the sensitive side, it may be best to take a little extra time. 1. Start by feeding your pet a mix of 25% new food and 75% old food for the first few days. 2. Then, increase the amount of new food to about 50% and feed that half-and-half mix for a few days. 3. Proceed to feeding 75% new food/25% old food for the next few days. 4. Complete the transition by feeding just the new food on its own.
Into early 2022 I was able to get this and the cat tolerated the original formulation. Then it was out-of-stock for a while and recently came back in. The box and labels are different now, and the formulation seems to have changed. It used to look like distinct shreds, and was obviously dark meat by the color. Now it is just a mush that is much lighter than it was before, Cat no longer tolerates it. Not sure if the change was intended, or is just a nothing-works-with-covid change. Please go back to the original formulation!
One cat walks away from this but the other cat loves it (but he would also eat anything chicken in a heartbeat). I love this brand for supplemental feeding outside of their main meals. Probably would not feed this often as it is higher in calories compared to the other flavors.
A number of my cats really like this flavor and it's good quality.
My elderly picky eaters approved, and i already fed them several cans. They usually get tired of the food after a few cans, but can't complain, they are eating!
We have 7 cats.... two are extremely picky. One devours this, the other eats it better than other things! So id say its a hit
I have two cats who are not picky, but they refuse to eat this food. The dog likes it, but he likes horse poop, so I would not go by his palate.
My cat, legit has an eating problem, has never turned his nose at ANYTHING. Except this. I read the reviews but thought, hey grizz would eat the neighbors child if it smelled funny enough, why not? I buy this brand of wet food for my dogs. They love it. Grizz loves it. But the cat food? Negative. In fact the rejected shreds of chicken that I tossed out for the ferals... is currently still laying in the grass covered in mold now. Not even a cracked out city cat will take it off my hands. Don’t risk it. If grizz says no... so will fluffy. Trust me
MY 3 CATS LOVE THIS....DEVOUR IT....I ALSO GAVE A COUPLE OF CANS TO MY MOM AND HER 2 CATS ALSO GOBBLED IT UP AS WELL AS ONE FERAL I FEED...ITS BEEN A HIT ALL THE WAY AROUND....I ONLY FEED A COUPLE OF TIMES A WEEK AS A TREAT SINCE THIS DOES NOT CONTAIN ANY OF THE VITAMINS. NOTHING BUT PURE SHREDDED CHICKEN DARK MEAT (DRUMSTICK) AND BROTH....ALWAYS HAVE A CASE OF IT ON STANDBY
Initially, Oscar would not go near this food. He does enjoy the chicken breast and tuna versions, however. Will not purchase the drumstick variety but will continue using the others! (I was able to eventually pursued Oscar into eating this by mixing the am meal with a small amount of dry food and pm meal with either tuna or chicken breast!
I've tried several cans when I knew my 3 cats were hungry. They all just stood there looking at it then sniffed it and then walked away. I was hoping they would like it as they all like chicken and just having broth and chicken sounded like a winner. I'll donate the rest. My dislike comes from the cans being so very hard to open. One tab nearly cut my index finger, another tab popped off completely and all had to be opened with a can opener.
