Senior pup with arthritis

After a scary trip to the hospital our senior pup needed some help with pain control. He is almost 13yrs old and 90lbs still plays like a puppy with his sister. This medication along with carproven helped him recover from a scary situation caused by hip dysplasia and lower back arthritis mixed with a little muscle spasm. He is back to long walks and playing with his sister.

Took 12 days and a lot of back and forth

Despite placing my order 12 days before running out of my dog’s medication, it took nearly the entire period for the prescription to be processed and shipped. Chewy contacted my vet multiple times, and I personally had to be on the phone coordinating between the two, with my vet also calling and faxing information several times. It was exhausting and, frankly, should not have required this much back and forth. What made things worse was the conflicting information I received. The Chewy app kept telling me I needed to mail in the prescription, which I didn’t have. Meanwhile, my vet said Chewy had confirmed they already had all the required documentation. This left me confused and on edge for several days, not knowing whether the medication would arrive in time. I’m incredibly grateful to the customer service representative who ultimately escalated the issue and arranged for overnight shipping, if not for her, the medication would have arrived three days too late. That level of service deserves recognition, and I truly appreciate the extra effort. While I'm thankful the medication made it in time, this experience was unnecessarily stressful, especially considering it involved something as important as my dog's health. I hope steps are taken to prevent this kind of miscommunication and delay in the future.

This is great given with Galliprant to help with arthritis pain for my 10 year German Shepherd. On its own it doesn’t do anything! At least per his vet, and my daughter, who’s also a vet. No gastrointestinal issues with the Galliprant. Will continue this combo as a long term option as long as it continues to help, and in to the second month, it’s been great. Keeps him active and enjoying his favorite game of fetch!

Best solution!

The Amantadine that I got from my Vet was literally a bitter pill to swallow. There was no disguising the taste which made giving my dog her meds a real struggle

The Amantadine that I got from my Vet was literally a bitter pill to swallow. There was no disguising the taste which made giving my dog her meds a real struggle. The Amantadine capsules from Chewy are not only easy to give (with a dab of peanut butter) but they’re significantly cheaper than the same dose from my vet. Win Win!

Great to have a tablet form!

It is so great that this medication is in a tablet form. It’s normally found as a capsule, but my dog takes a much smaller dose which is harder to split accurately

It is so great that this medication is in a tablet form. It’s normally found as a capsule, but my dog takes a much smaller dose which is harder to split accurately as a capsule. I was hoping not to have this medication compounded, but unfortunately my dog would only need 25mg which did not split well with how small these tablets are. That being said, I think if your dog would only need 50mg or are just better at taking tablets than capsules, this is an amazing product that increases accessibility to pet parents.

Apparent bad taste

We bought the tablets and apparently they taste very bad as my dog has never been hard to pill. She fights me on this one! I should have gotten the capsules.
