Adults 7 to 10 Years: Feed 1-1/4 to 1-3/4 cans per 6 to 8 lbs of body weight per day.

Felines prefer their food to be warmer when consumed. If they do not like their food when it’s cold, it is recommended to microwave the food in a microwave safe bowl in 10 second intervals until the product reaches a warm temperature, between 70-98°F. Check the temperature either with a kitchen thermometer or by touch (be careful here). If the food is hot to the touch, it’s too hot for kitty.

It’s important to pay attention to your cats’ behavior as you try new proteins. Some cats are picky and only like one specific protein such as fish or poultry. Once you understand what your cat likes, it’s best to stick to food purchases within that protein family to increase enjoyment of the food by your cat.

If you plan on transitioning to a new American Journey canned cat food flavor, we recommend mixing the food gradually for 7-10 days until the transition is complete. For sensitive cats, we recommend a 10-14-day transition.

Once opened, canned food should be stored in the refrigerator for no longer than three days. Canned food that has been opened and left at room temperature should be discarded after four hours. Clean the bowl prior to refilling it.
