How do you puncture the protective strip? When remove the cap it’s buried several mm below the rim and I will contaminate the applicator from inside. Googled instructions said to turn cap counter clockwise until it punctures but mechanically that’s not possible.

When I turned the bottle upside down to use the eyedrops, the fluid instead leaked out of where the top screws in. Very frustrating
