This filter is not an open pore foam or a structured mesh, it is instead a batting-type filter media product. This means that the pores (while tiny) are still variable – so there is no pore size rating for this product.

would it cause any harmful side effects if I cut the material to fit filtration system?

This product is able to be cut to size. There is no need to worry about cutting this material.

The Filstar media comes in only one size – roughly 6.5 inches by 6.5 inches, to fit the Filstar canister filters.

These filters do a great job filtering the finer particles and polishing water . They are finer and more condensed than regular polishing filters so if you have

These filters do a great job filtering the finer particles and polishing water . They are finer and more condensed than regular polishing filters so if you have a heavily stocked tank you will have to change them more frequently . Regular fine particle pads last me4 weeks easy and these last me about 2 to 3 weeks max . I do breed and raise Pleco and have a filter rated for a larger tank though. They do a wonderful job !

This is a good product, but I wish you would stock the micro filtration too. I have two filstar large canisters for my 75 gallon tank. I have three large gold fish and a large sucker fish in it.I put two or three of the micro filters and one of the super in each canister. I have been going to another store to get the micro. I have been having such good luck with your company I hate to have to make two orders to get what I need. Thank you Dave
