The Aqueon 10 gallon Aquarium Essentials Kit is a great little product. Contains many of the essentials needed to get a tropical fish tank up and running. Though basic, the filter runs fine with no issues. The filters are easily found and affordable, just make sure to rinse them out beforehand to flush out any loose carbon particles. The heater is perfect for the tank size. The stick on thermostat is not very accurate, but will definitely get you a reasonable estimate on the water temperature. The sample products for the water conditioner and food flakes are a nice bonus as well.

This is such a nice set up for a 10 gallon aquarium! It has everything you need, minus the bottom rocks! I am not going to put many of those in so the filter can grab all the stuff it needs to. The filter works great and is filtering away while the water is finishing getting conditioned thanks to the help of the water conditioner included. I have had a 55 gallon set up for many years and thought this would be great for a little Betta to call home! The thermometer is working perfectly and it is nice to have a net on hand! I will be headed to the pet shop soon to add my new friend! Highly recommend!

The good: The filter fits my sons 10 gallon tank better than the chunky tetra filter. Looks nice and sleek. The heater blends in well with the tank background The bad: It is SUPER loud. I've grown accustomed to even the cheapest filters being mostly silent when installed properly. All you hear is the trickle of water. This thing may have to be turned off at night while my son is trying to sleep. The LED light also didnt seem to want to plug in.
