My package arrived heavily damaged with stones missing. The box looked like it had been retaped back up after most of the aquarium rocks were lost due to an open bag. Chewy representative listened to me and is replacing 1 of my 20 pound aquarium rock bags. GREAT customer support!!

Sharp Broken Pebbles

These are natural small pebbles for substrate and the colors are nice. The majority of my bag was broken and sharp. My fish have longer fins, and I have some bottom

These are natural small pebbles for substrate and the colors are nice. The majority of my bag was broken and sharp. My fish have longer fins, and I have some bottom feeders as well. The concern then becomes having sharp edges could lead to cuts and scrapes on their fins. I could hand pick a few pebbles that were rounded, but the majority was broken and too sharp. These are natural and that happens in nature. I didn't expect from the picture and other review photos to have so many broken sharp edges. It may have just been my bag. I've ordered a different substrate from the same brand and love it! I'll be ordering more of that one instead. Customer service was excellent and did what they could to make it right. Which I appreciate.

I had a hard time picking after looking at so many. This is medium sized and polished with so many highlights of stones yet very natural. I prefer non dreary and

I had a hard time picking after looking at so many. This is medium sized and polished with so many highlights of stones yet very natural. I prefer non dreary and pleasant. It appears clean all the time. Tans, cream, opalescent, white, even a few gray stones. The his was used in a ram and rainbow tank.

Rather large gravel

I like the Zen Garden gravel, but it is rather large, compared to most other aquarium gravel. A lot of aquarium gravel is too fine for use with under gravel filters

I like the Zen Garden gravel, but it is rather large, compared to most other aquarium gravel. A lot of aquarium gravel is too fine for use with under gravel filters. Fine gravel substrate will sift through, and even clog up the slots in the filter plates. If you have big fish, especially those that move the gravel around, the Zen Garden will work just fine. I like the CaribSea Gemstone Creek a little more. It is slightly smaller than the Zen and is suitable for most aquariums, with or without under gravel filters. All aquarium substrate is dirty and should be washed thoroughly before placing it in your tank.
