I have been a loyal Arm & Hammer purchaser for 10 years. I don’t know what they did to the formula, but the new litter is extremely dusty and it doesn’t clump. The packaging isn’t a dealbreaker, but the sub par product that I am actually paying more for is. I hate having to waste my time researching different cat litters because someone at the Arm & Hammer Company decided they want to cut quality and change a perfectly good product. This new product has smaller, dustier granules, and it is tracked everywhere by my cat. Nothing like cleaning a poo-sand beach every time the litter box is used. The odor control is not what it used to be either. Now I have 2-40 pound boxes that I have to find an alternate use for. Guess I’ll go pour it into some potholes or something.
Fantastic product, hate the new rip the entire box apart style packaging. BUT lately size of granules is different in every box, sometimes you get a good box with consistent larger granules that works perfect, and sometimes you get a box of dust that barely clumps, and doesn’t remove intact. lately seems that arm&hammer is dropping the ball with their products being in the right boxes (just my opinion) still buying it but not exactly happy either.
Short and simple the new design is great, new cover is okay, but the new formula is bad. The litter looks like used litter. I feel they changed the formula along with the cover which is why its super cheap compared to other litter boxes. They cheaped out. It doesn’t clump the same, the fresh scent doesn’t last, and it looks like recycled litter. I’m pretty upset because I used to only ever use Arm&Hammer but if this is really their new litter formula I recommend getting another brand.
Have been using Arm & Hammer Double Duty litter for about 6mos. Love that the clumps are hard and stay together when scooping. Great odor control. Don’t love the new boxes but I dump it into a plastic bin and scoop or pour what I need in.
I have been using another litter that I really like, but it is expensive. I decided to try Arm & Hammer because it appeared to have most of the same qualities as my previous litter. The price was great, but I was dissappointed. The litter clumps still fell apart and scattered throughout the litter. Those particles are too small to get out completely. That is what I believe causes the bad smell. I also used a dedorizer, but that did not last. The box would smell bad after a few hours. I have gone back to my previous litter. I would try this litter again if they were to make some improvements.
I’ve used this exact litter for 10 years. The most recent boxes I received with the new packaging are absolutely awful. I can’t believe this is still billed as 99.9% dust free - more like 99.9% dust. And it’s not the same product in a new package. The granules are much smaller and the layer of powder that accumulated at the bottom of the litter box is ridiculous. My 2 cats even seem hesitant to use the litter boxes now which is obviously a problem. Now I’m stuck with 80lbs of litter I can’t use and have to find time to research an alternative - FAST! The only good thing I can say is it still controls odors well, but that doesn’t help if your cats don’t want to use it!
I much preferred the smaller boxes - I had to order two but I could easily manage them. Also, once you open the top, it is impossible to carry without holding on to the bottom (the handle is useless) Please bring back the smaller boxes.
This is the best litter I’ve ever had. Always a fan of Arm & Hammer, I liked the Clump & Seal products. But this new (to me) formula has helped tremendously with poop smells for two kittens. It’s more granular than C&S and doesn’t track, has a light clean scent, and whisks away odors in a matter of minutes. Only drawback is the 40 lbs. Way too heavy to carry and pour. Two twenty pounders instead?
Arm and Hammer was my go to brand for the last decade and suddenly things have changed. Along with the most insidious and horrible box opening design imaginable, the litter is also much different than I have grown used too. That doesn't thrill me one bit, and it isn't sitting well with the cats either.
