Keep an eye out for wear and tear. Within a month or so, most dogs chew Benebone into submission. Rice-sized flakes are OK, but if it looks like larger chunks are about to come off, it’s time to replace.

What are Benebones made of?
Benebones are made with USA-sourced nylon and flavored with USA-sourced real ingredients – real peanuts, white meat chicken, bacon or maple wood. That’s it! Benebone likes to keep it simple.
How hard are Benebones?
Since it’s a durable nylon chew, Benebones are pretty hard and durable. You can’t make an indent on the product with your fingernail, however hard you try. So be sure your pup has strong, healthy teeth and can handle harder chews such as antlers and real bones.
When should I replace my Benebone?
If pieces the size of rice or smaller fall off the Benebone, these generally do not cause a problem. If the product has lost more than a sugar cube’s worth of volume, it’s time to replace.
How long will a Benebone last?
Benebones are durable chews designed to last a few weeks or more. We recommend replacing monthly, or sooner if wear indicates.
What size is best for my dog?
Weight is only a rough guide. It cannot replace sound judgment based on a dog’s size, chew strength, and tooth strength. When in doubt, choose the larger size.
Can puppies enjoy Benebones too?
Puppies can enjoy Benebone’s Puppy line, which are a tad softer for teething puppies.
Is the Maplestick as durable as other Benebones?
The Maplestick contains a good amount of maple wood fiber mixed in with the nylon. It is durable, but wears a bit faster than the rest of the Benebone line.
What if my child or dog has an allergy?
Benebone products are made in a factory where nuts and other flavors are used. Unfortunately, keep Benebone products away from households with an allergy.

Great chew toy if you have puppies only and not adult dogs in the mix.
By Redgarnet54 on Jan 12, 2021
We just adopted an 8 month old puppy from a humane society. Although she is 8 months old, she still likes to chew and is learning her "yes" and "no" things. We have 2 other older pups who occasionally like to chew so I had gotten the adult Benebones and they are definitely a favorite, so it was a no brainer to obtain one for our puppy. The puppy toys are softer for the baby teeth. Well, my adult pups felt they had a right to chew this toy as well so it got destroyed pretty quickly so I had to toss it within a couple of weeks. They now all chew the adult medium size toys. If you only have one puppy and can easily keep a close watch on the activity with this toy, then I would highly recommend We just adopted an 8 month old puppy from a humane society. If you have a variety of aged pups of different sizes, then you MUST only buy to fit the strongest chewer unless you are willing to separate them and the toys, an impossible task if you want a relaxed atmosphere in your home. I find my pups prefer this style of Benebone best over all others and generally go through one in a couple of months....but you must remember that I have 3 pups who share these. They also prefer the bacon flavor over the chicken or peanut butter as well, but that's just in my household. Currently I have 3 of these bones around so if in the event they all decided to lay down and chew together, there is enough to go around. … more

My teething puppy loves this!
By MarC on Jan 13, 2021
My 3 month boxer puppy will sit and chew on this for a long time without getting bored. It’s harder than the puppy nylabone which I think feels good on her little teeth. It has also been pretty durable - there are teeth marks in it after having it for a couple weeks but no pieces have broken off. I’ve already ordered a similar toy from this brand!

great non-edible option

I got this for my 6 month old pup since he is currently on a restricted diet due to his GI problems. He absolutely loves this chew toy! He is a pretty gentle chewer but it’s lasted him about a month now.

Teething puppy enjoys it
By Boberta on Dec 15, 2020
I didn't expect my puppy to enjoy this toy so much but he has a blast with it. It doesn't compete with his bully sticks, but he can't always be having those, so this is a good thing to keep him occupied.

We still love benebones
By Shay on Sep 1, 2020
Please don't assume like I did. I seen puppy and thought they would be the same size as the other one we got in the puppy 2 pack. I only wanted the wishbone style as my puppy didn't care for the other shape. Just received and they are way too big for my 10 lb puppy. The other size was ideal. This one she can't even hold.

Not as strong as they say
By Amber on Sep 3, 2020
Bought this after people said it was better than nylabone brand. It is not. My puppy had it all of 5 minutes because breaking a chunk off. Multiple holes punctured into it, small pieces broken off. I gave it to him, walked to the kitchen to throw the packaging away and it was destroyed. He’s 16 weeks.

My dogs love these bones!
By LeeLeeLa on Jul 26, 2020
My lab and chihuahua play fight over this toy! They both love chewing on it. I spoke with my vet about this toy and he said it was safe. Said it was better than antlers because antlers could crack their teeth.
