Keep an eye out for wear and tear. Within a month or so, most dogs chew Benebone into submission. Rice-sized flakes are OK, but if it looks like larger chunks are about to come off, it’s time to replace.

What are Benebones made of?
Benebones are made with USA-sourced nylon and flavored with USA-sourced real ingredients – real peanuts, white meat chicken, bacon or maple wood. That’s it! Benebone likes to keep it simple.
How hard are Benebones?
Since it’s a durable nylon chew, Benebones are pretty hard and durable. You can’t make an indent on the product with your fingernail, however hard you try. So be sure your pup has strong, healthy teeth and can handle harder chews such as antlers and real bones.
When should I replace my Benebone?
If pieces the size of rice or smaller fall off the Benebone, these generally do not cause a problem. If the product has lost more than a sugar cube’s worth of volume, it’s time to replace.
How long will a Benebone last?
Benebones are durable chews designed to last a few weeks or more. We recommend replacing monthly, or sooner if wear indicates.
What size is best for my dog?
Weight is only a rough guide. It cannot replace sound judgment based on a dog’s size, chew strength, and tooth strength. When in doubt, choose the larger size.
Can puppies enjoy Benebones too?
Puppies can enjoy Benebone’s Puppy line, which are a tad softer for teething puppies.
Is the Maplestick as durable as other Benebones?
The Maplestick contains a good amount of maple wood fiber mixed in with the nylon. It is durable, but wears a bit faster than the rest of the Benebone line.
What if my child or dog has an allergy?
Benebone products are made in a factory where nuts and other flavors are used. Unfortunately, keep Benebone products away from households with an allergy.

Disappointed
By Madzyw on Mar 21, 2021
I was really excited about these arriving for my new puppy, but he is completely disinterested in them. I'd received multiple recommendations and read tons of positive reviews, but my puppy seems to be immune to their tantalizing scent (even I can smell it). I also think they're just too hard for him to want, though he does chew on another hard toy we got him.

House Favorite
By ErinT on Mar 31, 2021
I got these for my 12 week old puppy. He became obsessed with these and I needed to buy a second set, then a larger set, then the adult ones. He barely touches a nylabone but will cry if he can’t find one of these toys.

Best Chew Toy
By Argos on Mar 13, 2021
My 9 week old Doberman loves these! He wants to chewy on everything right now but when I redirect him and give him one of these bones, it keeps him occupied for a while. Hard enough to not break into pieces or have to worry about him destroying them and possibly eating. He also loves to chase the one that roles a little bit!

My Boston terrier mix loves them
By NBoma on Mar 21, 2021
I'm replenishing these every 2-3 months and keep on rotation. My 10 month old Boston can't get enough and keeps her busy for 20 mins at a time. This size is best for her, since she's about 18 pounds and on the petite side.

To fake and boring for puppies
By Hard on Apr 12, 2021
My puppy, (lab/border collie mix) has zero interest in these. I can see why. They're so hard and nothing like a stick or bone. He's 13 weeks and still has no interest.

Best Puppy Chews
By Gwen on Jan 27, 2021
These are the best chews for teething puppies. They are very hard but not as hard as typical nylon bones. They do not have any bend to them. They are made not to break off in small pieces but instead in tiny pieces smaller than a grain of rice than can be easily passed if eaten. You can even sand them down if they get too sharp or rough. As with all chews, supervise closely! I personally feel very safe and comfortable giving these to my chihuahua mix puppy.

Furniture saver
By flowerlady on Feb 20, 2021
These two chew Toys are my puppy's favorite. Whenever I see her starting to chew on something like my chair legs or husband's shoe, I toss one of these to her. She even takes one in her crate for the night. Very pleased with everything I've purchased for Brandy.

Great for puppies
By PineHiker on Jan 23, 2021 top100Contributor
These are harder than the nylon flexible puppy chews but it makes for a longer lasting chew. And, with my pup only 5 weeks old, he needs to have something for those new teeth that are coming through. He and his siblings will be enjoying these right up until they go to their forever homes ! Great buy !

Benebone is the best ever
By puppypack on Feb 12, 2021
Got a hyper 18 month old Boston Terrier/Pug and haven't found anything that fully engaged him and kept him busy til these. They are great and he loves both of them. Only bad thing is stepping on them in the night with bare feet!!!! Great Product!!!

he loves it!
By dachshundwoman on Jan 16, 2021
My very spoiled and picky mini wirehaired dachshund loves this chew toy. I gave him the Maplestick first (can't report about the Zaggler yet). It's just a little bit softer than his Benebone chicken wishbone dog chew which he also likes but now he prefers this one, of course it's NEW! They both hold up really well to a strong chewer.
