Keep an eye out for wear and tear. Within a month or so, most dogs chew Benebone into submission. Rice-sized flakes are OK, but if it looks like larger chunks are about to come off, it’s time to replace.

Always choose the largest product your dog can handle, even if you have a dog rated for the smaller size.
What are Benebones made of?
Benebones are made with USA-sourced nylon and flavored with USA-sourced real ingredients – real peanuts, white meat chicken, bacon or maple wood. That’s it! Benebone likes to keep it simple.
How hard are Benebones?
Since it’s a durable nylon chew, Benebones are pretty hard and durable. You can’t make an indent on the product with your fingernail, however hard you try. So be sure your pup has strong, healthy teeth and can handle harder chews such as antlers and real bones.
When should I replace my Benebone?
If pieces the size of rice or smaller fall off the Benebone, these generally do not cause a problem. If the product has lost more than a sugar cube’s worth of volume, it’s time to replace.
How long will a Benebone last?
Benebones are durable chews designed to last a few weeks or more. We recommend replacing monthly, or sooner if wear indicates.
What size is best for my dog?
Weight is only a rough guide. It cannot replace sound judgment based on a dog’s size, chew strength, and tooth strength. When in doubt, choose the larger size.
Can puppies enjoy Benebones too?
Puppies can enjoy Benebone’s Puppy line, which are a tad softer for teething puppies.
Is the Maplestick as durable as other Benebones?
The Maplestick contains a good amount of maple wood fiber mixed in with the nylon. It is durable, but wears a bit faster than the rest of the Benebone line.
What if my child or dog has an allergy?
Benebone products are made in a factory where nuts and other flavors are used. Unfortunately, keep Benebone products away from households with an allergy.

Dog and puppy love it!
By Katy on Nov 1, 2020
Bought these for my puppy and he loves them! My older dog also enjoys chewing them. The puppy only took an interest after my older dog roughed them up a bit with all her chewing. They definitely prefer the maple stick out of the two, but I'm sure that'll very for each dog. After about 2 months of daily chewing on the maple stick, two of the nubs are almost gone and the other two are also worn down quite a bit. My puppy is about 24 lbs and is an avid chewer. I am very pleased with these chews and will absolutely be buying more!

Benebone chewing toy
By NYCdog on Jan 6, 2021
Benebone is a good option for dogs that like to chew. My dog already has the larger size which I thought was too heavy for her so got this smaller one and it is a better fit. She is 11 lbs. Gave 4 stars because she took to it but I thought that because the size was more appropriate she would really go for it but this is not Benebone's fault.

Hands down the best puppy chews
By Maggiesmom on Dec 16, 2020
These things! My Chiweenie loves them. Hard enough to last through super chewing, soft enough for puppy teeth and tiny mouths. They smell pretty good. The wood flavor one is her favorite. They don't get those small pieces that break off either, so I feel that they are pretty safe. Totally recommend!

Puppy destruction deterrent
By Trish on Jan 13, 2021
My Aussie-Doodle tears apart soft toys, she tests her teeth on everything. She loves the benebones and we can easily distract her when she is in to mischief. She seeks out her Benebone whenever she gets bored.

Would not recommend
By Sami on Oct 31, 2020
I bought this for my five month old puppy. I thought the bacon flavor would entice her. Neither the puppy or my five year old golden had any interest in this product. Also, if you have dark floors, be careful! They blend in and it hurts when you step on them.

Puppy Love!
By Bones on Dec 19, 2020
Our 10 week old can not get enough of these. When he is having a puppy “biting fit” we give these to him and he loves it! He chews and chews and you can tell he is completely enjoying!

this pup doesn’t like it
By Tara on Nov 6, 2020
So I’ve had my golden retriever puppy for a month now and he still hasn’t gotten into the benebone’s I bought him. He has picked it up and moved it but hasn’t chewed on them at all.... he will eat all other chews, antlers or my furniture but not these benebones (thumbs down)

great for chewing
By swen on Nov 4, 2020
My puppy loves to chew this a lot. One downside is that they don't hold up and I always wonder if it's okay for her to be swallowing the chewed up pieces. The dark colored toy is the best, the light colored one rolls under couches a lot and it always gets lost. After 2 months, one side of the dark colored stick has already begun to disappear.

Split Choice
By Setterhome on Aug 24, 2020
Pack came with one Maple and one Bacon flavored treat. Bought for a five, almost six month old, teething puppy and the Mable log shaped treat did not go over well. However, the puppy LOVES the bacon flavored ridged treat. Loves the flavor and it is easier for him to work on. I would have given this a five star rating, if I could have purchased just the bacon flavored ridged treat.
