Benebones should be enjoyed but not eaten. While very durable, Benebones are not a fit for very aggressive chewers who could damage the product or damage their teeth. Every dog plays differently and, since not all toys are created equal, it’s always best to keep a close watch on your pup in case things get ruff. Supervised play will help toys last longer and most importantly keep your pal safe. No dog toy is truly indestructible, so always remove the toy from playtime if pieces begin to break off.
Nylon and Real Chicken
Keep an eye out for wear and tear. Within a month or so, most dogs chew Benebone into submission. Rice-sized flakes are OK, but if it looks like larger chunks are about to come off, it’s time to replace.
Size | Suggested Pet Size | Length x Width (inches) | Weight (ounces) |

Small | Under 30 lbs | 5.3in x 3.8in | 3.6oz |

Always choose the largest product your dog can handle, even if you have a dog rated for the smaller size.
Benebones are made with USA-sourced nylon and flavored with USA-sourced real ingredients – real peanuts, white meat chicken, bacon or maple wood. That’s it! Benebone likes to keep it simple.
Since it’s a durable nylon chew, Benebones are pretty hard and durable. You can’t make an indent on the product with your fingernail, however hard you try. So be sure your pup has strong, healthy teeth and can handle harder chews such as antlers and real bones.
If pieces the size of rice or smaller fall off the Benebone, these generally do not cause a problem. If the product has lost more than a sugar cube’s worth of volume, it’s time to replace.
Benebones are durable chews designed to last a few weeks or more. We recommend replacing monthly, or sooner if wear indicates.
Weight is only a rough guide. It cannot replace sound judgment based on a dog’s size, chew strength, and tooth strength. When in doubt, choose the larger size.
Can puppies enjoy Benebones too?
Puppies can enjoy Benebone’s Puppy line, which are a tad softer for teething puppies.
Is the Maplestick as durable as other Benebones?
The Maplestick contains a good amount of maple wood fiber mixed in with the nylon. It is durable, but wears a bit faster than the rest of the Benebone line.
Benebone products are made in a factory where nuts and other flavors are used. Unfortunately, keep Benebone products away from households with an allergy.

My dog LOVES this thing! She gnaws the daylights out of it and I guess she likes the texture. One negative is, wherever your dog is chewing this thing, you will have little plastic shards of scratchy plastic all over the place. Unfortunately, one of the places my dog loves to chew on this is in my bed. I had to de plastic my bed to be able to sleep. They chew pieces off of it and I hope they didn't swallow any.
My dog lovesssss these bones, unfortunately she’s cracked 2 teeth just chewing on benebones and it’s cost over $1000 to have them removed. Our vet said anything that you can’t indent with your own finger nail is too hard and can crack teeth. Sadly Ive had to toss it and now I’m searching for a bone that won’t break anymore teeth after her surgery!
My dogs love these bones and chew for hours. Now my 7 yr old Golden has cracked two teeth. This bone is the issue. Our pup saw a Dr that has done a lot of canine dentistry, and she said toss the hard chew bones in the garbage and only use slightly flexible chews. Wish I would have known before now!!
Have a dog that you have trouble getting chews tough enough? Well, these are not perfect but are good for a while, just keep your eye on them that when they get really chewed up replace them. I have trouble having things last more than 10 min and will have these for a couple of weeks.
By far, this is my dogs go to for a chew toy. He knows if he really wants to chew hard on something he picks this first and pretty much exclusively! Is it the equivalent to stepping on a giant Lego/stubbing your toe? Yes. But it’s Kooper’s fav so it’s a win! And it keeps him from chewing on things I don’t want him chewing on, so that’s a major win!
My young Weimaraner has teeth like aviation shears. Learned that early on! Yet he loves to chew, almost NEEDS to after meals. This is the only product that he can't destroy in 5 minutes. The Benebones I get sometimes last for months. This shape is his favorite. I now give this to him after dinner, and he gnaws for 5-10 minutes, he's happy and it gets put away for the next meal.
MY DOG CHEWED IT TILL IT GOT SMALLER. THE PLASTIC TOY WAS SO SHARP THAT ONE SIDE CUT HIS FACE.
My pit will destroy many things in minutes, this has not been one of them so far. I plan on getting another one in my upcoming autoship for my other dog since they both love it.
Dogs who like to chew will love this hard plastic bone. Its' super hard but your hard chewer will make headway. Then just throw it out when the ends get all chewed up and rough. Don't let them cut their gums on the rough ends, just buy a new one.
My seven year old loves these straight out of the dishwasher. My nine year old prefers them soaked in bone broth. They both love the design and have zero difficulty holding on to. I love that the wishbone design doesn't have the possibility of getting stuck on my dogs jaw. They like the other two flavors, but this is the hands-down favorite.
