Nylon and Real Bacon
Keep an eye out for wear and tear. Within a month or so, most dogs chew Benebone into submission. Rice-sized flakes are OK, but if it looks like larger chunks are about to come off, it’s time to replace.

Always choose the largest product your dog can handle, even if you have a dog rated for the smaller size.
Benebones are made with USA-sourced nylon and flavored with USA-sourced real ingredients – real peanuts, white meat chicken, bacon or maple wood. That’s it! Benebone likes to keep it simple.
Since it’s a durable nylon chew, Benebones are pretty hard and durable. You can’t make an indent on the product with your fingernail, however hard you try. So be sure your pup has strong, healthy teeth and can handle harder chews such as antlers and real bones.
If pieces the size of rice or smaller fall off the Benebone, these generally do not cause a problem. If the product has lost more than a sugar cube’s worth of volume, it’s time to replace.
Benebones are durable chews designed to last a few weeks or more. We recommend replacing monthly, or sooner if wear indicates.
Weight is only a rough guide. It cannot replace sound judgment based on a dog’s size, chew strength, and tooth strength. When in doubt, choose the larger size.
Can puppies enjoy Benebones too?
Puppies can enjoy Benebone’s Puppy line, which are a tad softer for teething puppies.
Is the Maplestick as durable as other Benebones?
The Maplestick contains a good amount of maple wood fiber mixed in with the nylon. It is durable, but wears a bit faster than the rest of the Benebone line.
Benebone products are made in a factory where nuts and other flavors are used. Unfortunately, keep Benebone products away from households with an allergy.
This long-lasting, non-smelly chew is a great find and we plan to always have one on hand. Our 16mo old Lab-possibly-Great-Dane mix LOVES this thing. She's a hardcore chewer, and she chewed her first one until it was just the middle part and two nubs on each end...basically until we were worried she'd swallow it. (But it lasted her over 6 months!) She seems to love her new one just as much. Be aware that because it is meant for aggressive chewers, it is made of pretty tough, hard stuff, so when they chew on it, it will be LOUD, lol. You will have to turn up the TV. But it's worth it for her to tire herself out chewing!
We bought this shape ONCE. Never again. Benebones are great for our heavy chewer who destroys everything in no time. We throw her chews away when they have significant wear. We noticed this toy wasn’t holding up as well as the wishbone shape but didn’t realize why until our dog stopped eating and was vomiting. We took it from her because it was just time to discard it anyway, and then She barfed out FOUR very worn discs! Who knows how long they were in her stomach? She had chewed off the ends and swallowed them! We are sticking with the wishbone shape.
My dog will take anything you give her and chew on it but she wouldn't touch this. She wouldn't even take it out of my hand and set it down which she'll do with anything you try to give her even if it's not a toy. Very disappointed to have wasted my money on something she won't touch.
my pit pull LOVES this bone , even my smaller dog fights him for it . super durable , and he normally chews through everything
My 1.5 year old Doberman is a very heavy chewer, and this toy has held up far than I anticipated. I would recommend giving it a try if you have a pup who has a tenacity to chew.
My 4 large dogs love Benebones. They hold up well to aggresive chewing. This shape does not seem to be their favorite, so will not order again. But that's just my dogs....your may love it. Warning....this one is dangerous to step on LOL!
It was my mistake to not realize how heavy this toy is and that it can break floor tiles when our dog drops it. Would not recommend unless you have carpet or other unbreakable floors.
My Boston Terrier chews A LOT. He has destroyed some other bones for heavy chewers (and books, furniture, etc) in as little as half an hour. I bought the large (30-60 lbs) size despite his being 22 lbs, and it has lasted almost 2 weeks, although it will need replacing soon. I do find tiny rice-sized bits on the rug, but that's better than the big chunks we had with others.
My 6 month old puppy likes to play with this toy. But it's too hard for him to chew on right now. Maybe as he gets older he'll show more of an interest in it.
My dog liked it initially but I was worried from the start about her teeth. The ends of it are the easiest part of it for her to chew and it got a shredded appearance which made me worry about her gums. I only gave it to her for 30 min or less sporadically for this reason and it still looks like a cheese grater so I threw it away. Would not rebuy
