Benebones should be enjoyed but not eaten. While very durable, Benebones are not a fit for very aggressive chewers who could damage the product or damage their teeth. Every dog plays differently and, since not all toys are created equal, it’s always best to keep a close watch on your pup in case things get ruff. Supervised play will help toys last longer and most importantly keep your pal safe. No dog toy is truly indestructible, so always remove the toy from playtime if pieces begin to break off.
Nylon and Real Bacon.
Keep an eye out for wear and tear. Within a month or so, most dogs chew Benebone into submission. Rice-sized flakes are OK, but if it looks like larger chunks are about to come off, it’s time to replace.

Always choose the largest product your dog can handle, even if you have a dog rated for the smaller size.
Benebones are made with USA-sourced nylon and flavored with USA-sourced real ingredients – real peanuts, white meat chicken, bacon or maple wood. That’s it! Benebone likes to keep it simple.
Since it’s a durable nylon chew, Benebones are pretty hard and durable. You can’t make an indent on the product with your fingernail, however hard you try. So be sure your pup has strong, healthy teeth and can handle harder chews such as antlers and real bones.
If pieces the size of rice or smaller fall off the Benebone, these generally do not cause a problem. If the product has lost more than a sugar cube’s worth of volume, it’s time to replace.
Benebones are durable chews designed to last a few weeks or more. We recommend replacing monthly, or sooner if wear indicates.
Weight is only a rough guide. It cannot replace sound judgment based on a dog’s size, chew strength, and tooth strength. When in doubt, choose the larger size.
Can puppies enjoy Benebones too?
Puppies can enjoy Benebone’s Puppy line, which are a tad softer for teething puppies.
Is the Maplestick as durable as other Benebones?
The Maplestick contains a good amount of maple wood fiber mixed in with the nylon. It is durable, but wears a bit faster than the rest of the Benebone line.
Benebone products are made in a factory where nuts and other flavors are used. Unfortunately, keep Benebone products away from households with an allergy.
I have been so impressed with this bone. I have the small size for my Yorkipoo puppy, and we have had it for months and he still loves to chew it every morning. They say to replace it after it's been chewed up, but I think that's just to get you to buy a new one. We will have this bone for years before needing to replace it.
I was actually disappointed that this was a plastic toy. The title said "flavor" which makes me think the dog can eat it. The instructions said to throw away when large flakes begin coming off. Large flakes began coming off very quickly. The bone did not last long. Since it is plastic scented/flavored like bacon, I was concerned about my dog eating the plastic thinking it was yummy. We had the toy for less than a month this is what it looks like.
We have 3 mastiffs. A 10 month old English Mastiff, a 2yr old Cane Corso and a 13yr old Cane Corso who all throughly enjoy this durable and completely safe chew toy. Our crew can pretty much destroy the majority of dog toys, it's just a matter of time as to how quickly it happens. But these Benebones seem invincible! I purchased 2 of them thinking I'd need a back up but they are holding up better than any Nylabone or similar types chew toys. All 3 beast have been working on the 2 bones nonstop and there's almost no wear to show for it. The ergonomic design is great for the dogs to position it in their paws comfortably. And because they are technically 3-pronged for lack of a better description, the ends stay in rotation so there's no sharp edges from constant direct contact in one spot. I have not seen any signs of gum bleed either which is awesome. The size, I purchased large or extra large I believe, is very appropriate for my giant breed doggos. I purchased these on sale and now knowing what a superior product it is, I'll happily pay full price as to throwing my money away on chew toys that are simply not strong or large enough to keep my dogs safe and happy. This product will not splinter as it is made of a semi-ridgid, material that is still soft enough to prevent gum bleeding.
My dog has a clean bill of health when it comes to her teeth. Barely any tarter and she’s 4. The Nylabones I have caused her to chip her MOLAR. Not a little tooth, the biggest tooth she could have possibly chipped which resulted in a surgery to remove it. For context, she’s definitely an anxious chewer and a powerful chewer. But you would think the product would be made in a way that ever power chewers would chip this teeth.
Gave my Sara this dog chew, and she has been enjoying. I do watch that no parts come off of the chew toy. with it being bacon flavor, she is enjoying, and know it is good for her to chew. Will order again, but maybe a little smaller size.
Benebones speak for themselves. But, if your pup hasn't tried one yet, they are excellent puppy chews that don't disintegrate in a day. My 3 month old puppy has had this Benebone for several weeks and still goes back to it & I put in her crate when away fir awhile
My dog loves to chew. I got her this wishbone and she loves it. It does leave little pieces of whatever it's made of all over the floor. But she's had it a couple weeks and there is still a lot of chewing left to do on it
Great toy for my super chewer Bullmastiffs! I chose the Xtra Large for obvious reasons and they are really big which is unusual in a toy as many aren't really extra large. You will not be disappointed! This toy is super tough and has lasted for over 4 weeks and still going strong! The wishbone shape is great as well, as it offers a way for dogs to hold on while they chew. I will definitely buy this toy again!
This shape Benebone is awesome. It's safe even for the most aggressive chewer. They didn't like the bacon flavor as well as the chicken but hey, they chew them for better teeth and breath!!
The dogs absolutely love this. They hunt for this chew. I was skeptical as my dogs aren't usually chewers, they prefer balls and plush toys. But this thing has changed their attention. 10/10.
