This food has a carbohydrate content of 1.60% and a phosphorus content of 0.14% on an as fed basis. It also contains 7.80% carbohydrate and 0.71% phosphorus on a dry matter basis.
Are the cans, 2.8-oz BPA free; are the cans, 5.5-oz BPA free?

have to stick right under senior cat’s nose

I got a variety pack of BFF paté first since they all were rated low in phosphorus and my senior cat’s kidney levels are creeping up in the normal range. The smell isn’t strong so it doesn’t draw my 14 year old cat to the bowl— her sense of smell doesn’t seem super strong, but I only adopted her a few months ago so I can’t compare to younger years. I have to stick the bowl right in front of her feet. She moves her head and sniffs around her a bit like she doesn’t recognize the bowl with brown stuff in it as the bowl all her meals come in. Haha! She eventually moves her nose down and laps at the three tablespoons in front of her. She never finishes it in one sitting. She comes back 30 min later, eats more but still doesn’t finish, and I have to sprinkle some freeze dried toppers or mix a little wet topper to get her to finish a serving. She also prefers patés to most other textures (loves mousse) probably because she had 6 or so teeth extracted over the summer before I adopted her. She LOVED when I used an immersion blender on Hills Tender Tuna chunks in gravy because she wouldn’t eat the chunks, I tried it on this BFF paté, and that’s how I got her more excited to lap it up! I add one Tbsp of water to three Tbsp of this blended food, heat up in microwave for about 13 seconds, and it’s more palatable.

I wish they did love it

My 3 kitties would give this a "Meh", unfortunately. They'll eat it, but generally only if I top-dress it with something they really like. It also has a lot of fluid, so is not enough for a meal for the 3 of them like most pates. I've also tried this on some of my clients' cats and the reaction seems the same.

My Cats Hate It

This food is very watery, gritty, greasy and very unappealing to my cats. Two of them will pick at it while looking at me like I’m punishing them; my third cat backs away from it completely and won’t eat it at all. Horrible waste of money.

Another winner!

I've been trying to add more fish-free Weruva varieties, and I'm happy to say this one is another hit. Two of our cats clean their plates quickly, while our third eats it more reluctantly, but still cleans her plate eventually. Adding a few more freeze-dried toppers does the trick for her. A major win for me as well, since the 5.5 oz. can is almost 170 calories. Will definitely keep in our autoship rotation.

Gritty & dry

None of our 7 cats like it. Only one eats it reluctantly because she prefers wet food to dry & I give them wet & dry choices. The pate is dry & gritty with some oily broth & even after mashing & mixing the pate with the oily broth, I still need to add water to it. I even add treats to it to entice them to eat. Looks unappetizing to me & my cats agree. Too bad. The ingredients look good it in reality, it doesn’t appeal to my cats.

Good option for urinary issues

My picky kitty will eat this (loves the hydrating puree) and it's one food that has low levels of magnesium and ash. Sometimes the consistency between batches is different (more or less liquid) but overall it's great!

Two of my boys go nuts for this!

Two of my elderly kitties love this. They tend to gobble it up before anyone else can get any, but I've offered it to my other elderly cat who needs extra hydration, and he's not into it, even though he likes the BFF chicken/turkey/duck pate from Weruva. I still recommend it, though.

This particular can was pate, which was my mistake in ordering. My cats do not like pate. I have used other BFF food, which was a success.

Cats love it

I spoil my cats and give them a choice of various good food to eat. Every single one goes to the corner of the bowl that has this and finish it off. One or two even forego the precious "fish and shrimp" from another brand for this. I first purchased this to try it out and then re-ordered more. Cats are picky and it's great to find something they don't turn their nose up from.
