Questions & Answers

6 Customer Questions

what are the right conditions to decompose?

Answer by ChewySep 17, 2022
BioBags are designed to be composted and returned naturally back to the earth. If BioBags are placed in an “open” or “turned” space like a compost facility they will decompose at a rate similar to other biodegradable materials in the same setting. If BioBags are placed in an anaerobic (air-locked) landfill and deprived of oxygen and the existence of the micro-organisms that “eat” naturally biodegradable materials, their ability to decompose will be severely restricted. This is true of all biodegradable materials placed in this setting, including paper, yard waste, and food waste. The majority of landfills in the U.S. are modern anaerobic (air-locked) landfills.

I've used these bags for years. And loved them. I get a case at a time for my large hounds. A couple of orders ago, I had some seams give, mostly when I picked up a poop. I was near the bottom of the case, so I figured the bags had aged a little prematurely and had started biodegrading. Well, the problem has gotten worse. I've 3 boxes left and probably will throw them away, as I'm tired of picking up the same poop 3 times and rebagging it.

Not large enough for cat litter

The opening is too narrow for my litter scoop which makes cleaning up the cat’s litter boxes more trouble than before

size

Probably okay for single-serving dog clean-up but too small for once daily 2 litter box duty.

Bought these to use for cat litter as we’re trying to cut out the use of plastic bags in our house. The large size is perfect for daily cleaning of both boxes. I like that they have holes for hanging the bags up as well.

Good for You and the Environment

Big enough to take care of my big dog cleanup, and I love that the bags bio-degrade over time.
