About BLUE Buffalo

Blue Buffalo began with unconditional love and some furry inspiration from a large breed Airedale, Blue. When Blue's family started a pet food company, their vision was clear. They wanted every pet parent to be able to feed their pet with the same care they would feed family. So they created the #1 natural pet specialty food to help furry family members live happy, healthy lives. Of course, they named it after Blue.

Great food for picky eater

My poor pup has been ill since April with a variety of problems. She had even given up eating her homecooked chicken and quinoa which she normally loved. She had been on a prescription food most of her life but would no longer eat it. After trying several others I was thrilled at how she has taken to this food. She's even begun to gain a little weight! She is prone to pancreatitis and the low fat is a real plus.

Veterinarian recommended this kibble

My dog likes this food. She has been selective with kibble in the past. My veterinarian recommended this low fat food. My only dissatisfaction from my purchase with Chewy was the shipping time. When I initially placed my order, the shipping time was 3 days to arrive. However, it turned into 7 days. This turned into a major inconvenience because I ran out of her previous bag of food.

It's working

My pup has pancreatic insufficiency , so she required some significant changes to her diet. I was worried that she wouldn't care for this kibble, but she eats it right up. This, combined with the enzymes she has to take now, has made a dramatic improvement.

Great low-fat option

Our pup has a history of pancreatitis and has to be on a low fat diet. She eats 3 cans of low fat wet food daily and about a cup of this kibble daily. She seems to like it, I like that the 1st ingredient is whitefish. Great option for pups needing low fat diet! We tried some other vet diet kibble but she likes this one the best!

So far so good

My sheltie has a smoldering gallbladder issue with elevated LFTs - He was put on Royal Canin Low Fat GI and he had the worst gas all day. I switched to Hills and of course - the same awful gas and no improvement in his blood work. Seems to be tolerating this brand just fine so far. Fingers crossed.

Blue Buffalo low fat vet prescription diet

This is fabulous food! I had a very sick dog with pancreatitis. She started with ID and she wasn’t doing well. I read the top line ingredients on the ID and it was horrible. My dog has been on blue Buffalo her whole life and I read the ingredients on the vet prescription and it was wonderful so my vet and I agreed to switch her to blue Buffalo lowfat prescription. She loves it she’s doing great she’s digesting very wellAnd she runs to her bowl. I would only make one comment if anyone is having a sick dog who is having bowel issues now that the pancreatitis is under control she is also getting a quarter cup of the regular blue blue buffalo her normal diet to add fiber. This has stabilized the bowel issue. Just a heads up for anyone that’s having a dog with digestive illness. Thank you to blue Buffalo for making such a wonderful food for my poor sick dog she is doing great!!!

Picky eater loves this food

I have tried other Low Fat dry food for my old guy that has IBD with protein-losing enteropathy and this is the only dry food that I can get him to eat. He loves it, Chewy is very good about getting the order out quickly and get the scripts from the vet as needed. I highly recommend if you have a picky eater that needs a low fat food.
